  1. Thanks, but why the heck do I need the adaptor?!! Are you telling me that 'Sharp' are selling these units in Japan claiming that they have 'Line Out' when in fact you can't actually use the 'Line Out' until you buy an adaptor. The reason I want to use 'Line Out' is so that I can upload my recorded music to my PC in the best way that can be achieved with analogue. Oh, and where can you but these adaptors if in fact I need one? Guess I'll have to part with yet more money ... Grrrrr!
  2. I've established that the 'Line Out' utilises the same port as the headphones but I'm still confused how the unit knows when to use 'Line Out'?
  3. Hi Folks I've been using the DR7 for a few days now and it's a great unit. However, I was disappointed to find that the music speed control feature of the recorder (i.e. the ability to reduce playback speed by up to 30%) actually alters the pitch of the music. In other words, when I reduce playback the music drops in pitch as well. It's annoying when trying to learn a solo and you have to learn it in another key first. Why does the unit do this? I would have thought that since the music is digital it could simply be slowed down. Why does the pitch change like on old tape decks with a 'Variable Speed' control knob? Is there any way round this (hacks, etc.)? Cheers, Fiddler.
  4. Hi Folks Just bought the Sharp MD-DR7 but I'm confused. I'd been led to believe that the unit has a 'Line Out' (a major advantage for recording music to my PC) and it appears that the 'Line Out' port doubles-up as the headphone port. How then do I get the DR7 to use 'Line Out'? Is there a setting on the unit or does it do it automatically? By the way, I've got the Japanese unit and it didn't come with the 4-pole > 3-pole adaptor. Is this a major disadvantage for me? Cheers, Fiddler.
