Although the H-series (H120, H320, etc) lacks recording level meters, it can record WAV audio files through a microphone, as well as mp3's up to 320 kbps. In other words, it's better than the crap iPod add-on. But really, the Nomad Jukebox 3 has the best recording facilities availiable, as well as upgradabitlity to an 80gb hard drive.

Err... there are already two very capable HD recorders/music players: The iRiver H series and the Creative Nomad Jukebox 3.

"The day Apple adds a line-in to the iPod" The iRiver H series (comes in 20gb and 40gb) has line/optical ports (Line-in and line-out). The Line-in also functions as a Mic-in. This seems to be what you're looking for. Oh yeah, and those features come standard on the H with no extra cost, and can record at a variety of mp3 bitrates, and WAV.

How can I get from CD to SP mode in a minidisc? SimpleBurner only offers LP2 and LP4...

Damn...."Bandwidth Exceeded"...

Damn...now when I open SonisStage 1.5 the window where it would be is just black, and I can't click on anything. Is there a set number of discs you an make before the software stops working, or something?
-
Er...what folder does it put the .omg files in? I can't find them!

Thanks! I hadn't tried SonicStage before, because I thought it was only for tracks already on your hard drive (not CDs), but I discovered you can go the CD->MD route there as well. Question, tho: Does it save anything on my computer when it does that?

When I put a CD in my D drive and a blank minidisc in my MZ-N510CK and connect it with the USB cable, and choose LP2 and click record, it says "recording" but stays at 0% forever! The first track says "Ready" but never starts. I actually got this to work for a little while (I made 3 discs), but then it just stopped working again. What is wrong?
-
Okay, I got it to work for a little, but now it stopped again. I click Record, and it just stays at 0% forever, and the first track just says "Ready". When it was working, It started immediately. How can I make it start working again?

I just got my MZ-N510CK today. I installed the drivers and all the software and stuff. When I put a CD in my D drive and a minidisc in the player, hook it up with a USB standard->mini cable, pick LP2, and click Record. Then it just stays at 0%, not making any progress. How can I make it record? Also, when I close the Simple Burner, and try to open it again, it says "Simple Burner is already Running". How can I fix this stuff? Do I need to use the exact usb cable that came with the unit, or what?

I got the silver/grey one. Question: Can NetMD players play discs with multiple compressions, like one disc with some lp4 songs and some lp2? How does the sound quality of LP2 compare to, say, 160 kbps mp3?
-
I got it for 50 bucks on Outpost.com. It hasn't come yet, but I was wondering, is the MZ-N510CK a decent player? I know I can't really go wrong for 50 dollars (I saw the msrp was $150) but I just want to know the concensus on this board for this particular unit.
