  1. I don't bootleg - I am very new to the Minidisc world and I don't agree with bootlegging anyway- where I live- population of 8,000, notable bands do not come through here anyway. I get my music the traditional way. I am hoping to record many performances of local talent, singers, musicians and actors in our area which there is an abundant amount. We have a population base of 40,000. It was once noted that at least "every second household in our area has some type of musical instrument in it - I believe it!
  2. At 5 inches long this microphone may be a little tough to conceal when used for bootlegging, but is it worth buying to capture quality recordings of our jams and gigs? Seeing as though my SONY NET MD MZ-NF810 CK has "plug in power", is it necessary to use a battery with the microphone? thanks Dan
  3. I simply want to buy a minidisc system to record our jams/stage performances. Which brand or model would do the best job? Thank you, dan
  4. I have tried manually reducing the recording level, but I'm still getting distortion as if the recording level was up full. I cleaned the unit with a Radio Shack Head and Lens cleaner. It worked fine accept for the nagging problem that still exists. Can a good quality mike make the difference? It didn't seem to matter with the Sharp 702 I once had. It responded verywell in reducing the level but it soon died because of the etoc error. What can I do to get rid of this annoyance? Thank you!
  5. If I press the play button to record from "Record Pause" after about 3 or 4 seconds TOC appears in a box in the display window, and the unit will not record even though it looks as though it is. Does this mean the 702 is a goner? If not, could please instruct me on what to do? Thank you, Dan
