Hi to Everyone,
I'm new to this forum and I recently bought a wonderful SHARP DR410H.
Just for fun I generate a test music file with a pure sinusoidal sound on a the left channel and an other pure sound on the right channel (but this with a different frequency).
Then I tried to record this file on my MD first with NetMD (SonicStage 2.06) and from the line in.
What I observe is that:
1. Recording from the line in, the two frequencies remain separeted, each one on his channel.
2. Recording from NetMD, the two channels were "mixed" together, so that both frequencies were present on each channel.
3. The points 1 and 2 were valid for SP, LP2 and LP4 recording speed.
It's this normal?
Has anyone else tried some similar tests?
Why sonicstage mix the channels?
Is this a limitation of the NetMD protocol or simply a low quality encoding?
Does a workaround exist?
I found that MD is a great thing, but it's a pity that:
- it doesn't permit high speed upload
- NetMD doesn't exist for machintosh
But for the rest it's really wonderful!
Lot of Fun to Everybody
Berny
