Hi there,
I have gone to sears 3 times to have them repair my JE510 original minidisc player purchased in...1997 I believe. Everytime they look at it, the price goes up 100.00$ I finally gave up.
Today I bought a new dvd player because my old sony dvd player went out on me. Instead of having it repaired I bought an apex dvd player for 40.00$ (apex is very underrated). So I decided to open my sony dvd player and invesigate/clean in hopes I can give it to my mom. After cleaning that, I saw my dusty minidisc player and decided "why not open that up too?". I found minidisc.org and am going to now attempt to get out the electrical tape. (remember the last bill for repair was going to be 298.00$ in which I would never pay for)
I can't believe sony would treat us like this. I recorded hundreds of hours of music on pro tools on these discs and sony is acting like a cheap fly by night company. Thanks for the help. If you ever need my help in scolding Sony, let me know.

p.s the only reason that i love this model so much is because of the optical in and outputs. The newer md/cd-player/recorder I have does'nt have optical outs. So I gave it to a d.j friend of mine
