No I haven't tried recording on it yet. my main reason for for a home deck is the optical out. I record from XM radio to my portable MD, away from home, then I want to upload from MD to my standalone CD burner.

Well I think I've got it figured out. my JB-920 dosen't like 80 min. discs! I did some recording on a 74min disc from a portable, stuck it back in the 920 and it sounds great. Have you ever heard of that? thanks again for your reply.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! He said it was in good shape. any cleaning tips? where to find cleaning stuff? should I open it and blow it out with compressed air or something?

Yeah,I just bought a used 920 deck off of e-bay and started playing it today and it skips. It skips more towards the end of the discs. This model just has SP mode, and that's the mode on the discs I'm putting into the player. Any tips on cleaning ect.?

Ok so now I'm looking fo a program that's coming out this fall that's called Sony WAV utility?

Do I have to trash all my old minidiscs to convert to the new hi md? since the future will only be himd, no new products for net-md ect. Someday I will not be able to buy regular mini discs? Plus, I guess I'm the only guy in the world that needs to record from MD to CD-R!
