kiseki also means cornerstone.

What you don't know is that it's already in english. It's not the case with HiMD however. Sonicstage will be in Japanese. You can download it off the net somewhere, I believe there's a link on this site.

I thought Sony is working on a program to export .omgs recorded from an analogue line to .wav format.

No. No power to that Apple, harhar. (buy an iPod)

Here's something I have to say about the iPod. Battery life is shorter than i'm used to. Froze twice. Here's something else I have to say about the iPod: It sounds fantastic. The bassless comments come from the iPod earbuds. By the way, those earbuds gave me a swollen ear for a week. I don't believe it. I'm never letting them get anywhere near my ears again. It syncs most everything. Like the clock. My ipod is synced to an atomic clock through my PC. You can use it as a phonebook for your friends, and you can use it as a cheat book for your calculus exam. Interface is seamless. It's like a physical iTunes. It does most everything computer based better than MD. The only problem you'll have is with copy protected CDs. Lately they seem to have been putting the SCMS bit to "copy" so your MD can't copy that digitally though. However you can get an SCMS stripper and send it through to your PC. Then iTunes can deal to it. That's all.

Impossible. You can capture it as a wave form but i'm not sure how to do that. It'll be in real time anyway. Hi MD really does suck. You can upload your recordings and burn them onto an ATRAC3 CD.. Yay. What a pity. I'd return it and invest in a good MD deck such as a JB940. Recording digitally from the deck's optical output to the soundcards optical input (assuming you have a card with one of those) would be quicker and less inconvenient.

Just like the **** only less convenient and less apple. Maybe there's a merit in having discs, rather than hard disks. Sure your friends can have a copy, if they own a HiMD player. What a way to make a product popular - FORCE it on the consumer! Speaking of HiMD players, I think the EH1 came with Sonicstage and everyone was confused? It's probably for uploading. Duh. I'm stupid.
-
Yeah, but you couldn't play it back due to OpenMG's DRM.
-
You won't be able to upload the music on your HiMDs to your computer in Australia, as far as I know. Or at least if you can upload you can't play it.
-
I've heard of corrupted minidiscs. I have several. Skipping through "silverf**k" by the Pumpkins, and one a while ago, on an X disc. Had to chuck both, they were dead. My E900 also skipped to death. Heh.

In other news, the iPod mini is now available in Australia for AU$399, and in NZ for NZ$489. 4GB and only a little smaller/lighter than the regular iPod? Get stuffed. But you know it's going to be popular. I bet they're sold out already and it's only been available about 12 hours.

Where's the remote? Unlike MD players, you don't need a remote to use the unit in all it's splendor. You don't have to mess around with these remotes which break after less than 6 months. Where's the mic? Tell me, somebody tell me, please tell me... where's the mic in on an R500? Who needs a line in when you can record at 11MB/s from a computer. It's fairly obvious to everyone but the stupid (you) that we chose iPods knowing we weren't going to do any recording. Here's the criteria, chump: -Easy to transfer tunes to and from device. -No restrictions (Notice, this rules out Hi-MD) -Small (I owned an E10 and played with it next to an iPod, the difference really is scant unless you're pedantic) -Enough battery life for a day or two of light listening -Warranty that's valid in this country Sorry for being inflammatory, but I didn't think it really needed to be beaten home as much as it did.
-
Hi. No, that's impossible. I think you can use the buttons on the unit and it might shut up. I can't remember, it's been so long since I used that (it died a week after I bought it brand new).

Did you mean "Blade mp3 quality is horrible compared to ATRAC"? LAME sure sounds good. ATRAC sounds good too. Certainly not a huge leap above it that you're making it out to be.

Maybe they decided that having weak, weaker, and weakest outputs was a good selling point.
