If my only option of input on the computer is the mic jack, should I come out of the MD using the headphone jack or the optical jack? Does each jack require a different kind of cable?

I know that you cannot transfer a song from MD back to your computer. I record my band rehearsals and I would like to put them onto a CD. Is there anyway to drag and drop to get my audio files onto my hard drive? I know I could run a line out from my MD to the line in on my comp and record in real time, but that would be a pain. Thanks for any help. Jake
