  1. Thanks ParadoX. It's good to know that the components are there so I don't try to fix something that can't be fixed. However, the LCD is going off sometimes and it acts a bit strange. Maybe it's time to buy a new one anyway. Fredrik
  2. My MD, MZ-N707, fell into a liter of yogourt about a month ago when I was out travelling. It stoped working and was completely dead. So, I went to a service-guy in Peru with a friend who spoke spanish. The service-guy wanted to take a look at it so we went and came back in two hours. When we were back the MD seemed to work again and it played a disc correctly. He said he had replaced some chips inside. However, he also said that it wasn't possible to record anymore because he needed more time, which we didn't have at that point. So, we went from there, pretty satisfied that it worked again. This is what it looks like right now: http://www.hd.chalmers.se/~ei99bean/mz-n707.jpg However, one thing that supprised me now when I'm back home is that cable at (1) is cut off. What would be his reason for that? Another strange thing is that some components at (2), for example D6, D7, D5 and others, aren't there... I downloaded the service manual for N707 but the schematic for this board was not included, so I don't know if they are supposed to be there or not. Could anyone with a N707 help me to check it out? I remember that there were another MZ-N707 on his table and now I think that he could have taken some of my components and put them in the other one. But maybe I'm just too suspicious Is it possible to solder cable (1) back to normal in some way or do I have to replace the whole thing? Recording is mostly what I use my MD for so I need to fix it in some way. Also, the 'volume-up' button (3) doesn't work very good sometimes. Is it possible to fix this in some way? Best regards, Fredrik
