i had the same problem, the only thing u can do is take it to a sony service center. hopefully its still under warranty. they need to replace a critical netmd part. gl

Thanks RichM. I'm very happy that my unit is still under warranty for parts and labor! w00t. Also i'm very lucky there is a Sony repair center here in Hawaii or I would have to ship my unit 5000+ miles over the pacific. Thanks for everyone's help here.

ok so i did a clean install of win2000 and i cant upload, I checked my driver, it has that yellow exclamation point bubble and it recognizes the NetMD device, but under properties it says the device will not start. i have no other USB devices attached to my computer and I was able to upload a week ago before my computer had a weird crash.

i was running a dual boot system on this really bad vaio i had but i just reformatted. I am going to dry it out on a clean install and let you know! I remember reading somewhere that dual boot is bad. is that confirmed?

Well when I set my md player on the docking station it wont recognize and show "PC>>MD". However when i take it off of the docking station it says PC>>MD and does not allow me to do anything. In order for me to get it to play again is by cycling the power using the switch in the back. basically has anyone had this problem? This seems pretty bad. thanks please let me know.
