  1. I was aware about this device almost a month ago, but I didnt know how describe it so I thought that my post would be vanished. Anyway, it's good to know the name of such a nice system.
  2. I'll keep using my MD units as main players, thanks for the advice I'll consider it when I operate the HD5 directly. Anyhow, the 40elk will be its best friend

  4. Thanks, now keep saving money p.s. does this question was so stupid to be closed? anyway it's to the moderator's discretion...
  5. is it possible to set a cover art on the DH10P for an album from a saved picture on the HiMD disc, say the original cd cover of an artist?? I ask this because the manual says that the cover art is possible only for the pictures that were shot using the camera... Im saving for my next player and that might be a key factor
  6. Let me get this straight, will there be a new bit rate for current HiMD devices???!!!...

  10. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children What an amazing movie. The Amityville horror, pretty freaky movie if you ask me, but I think there is another version of this movie... the priest in the room full of flies, I've seen that before...
  11. So the mc40elk isnt an universal HiMD remote, too bad what about the HDD players, same limitations?
  12. Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11... I was pretty shocked
  13. IT HAPPENED TO ME AS WELL... at the beginning I thought that I had been pressed FFW mistakenly, BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN at least five time in a row. When I pressed the stop button the player skipped to the next or a random song (I dont remember well but thing is it didnt stop) I was pretty scared, however since then the player works flawless. So this might be a bug confirmation, pretty weird if you ask me Now, I have to see the player display everytime I press stop button to check if it really stopped.
  14. Dont think so, headphones with high impedance are meant to be used with HiFi systems which have amplifiers able to drive such impedance with no problem. On the other hand, when you use a portable device you must think about power consumption therefore high impedance are not good for that. For example, I have a 32ohms headphones and 16ohms earphones. The latter need only half volume bar to be loud unlike the headphones which need 2/3 volume bar to be loud. Im looking for headphones too now and the impedance limit is 32ohm, good for portable and good for HiFi audio systems.
  15. Well, the monitor of my work station (Optiplex) turned off by itself while I was checking some component price lists for an electrical project. I needed to keep working so I had to go to the warehouse carring the 17" useless monitor and get a replacement which was a dusty 14" old monitor. Anyway, when I got back to my office I called to Dell tech support and after 13 tries and one hour on the phone someone picked my call up. The tech guy said that as part of the guarantee contract I must be facing to the device in question, so I told him that the monitor was in the warehouse and I could tell him everything about the malfunction: unplug-plug power cable and nothing, unplug-plug signal cable and nothing, a pc restart and nothing, led indicator blinking, doesnt turn off, everything... he said: "NO, you must be seeing the monitor", then I said:"ok, but dont hang up, Ill be back in a minute...". So I started to run, pick the Dell monitor, run back to the office and guess what? No tech guy on the phone. So I leave it for Monday when Im in the mood

  18. The best remote for any HiMD device or even for those hdd Sony players is the RM-MC40ELK, you will get a good amount of info from its three lines display. The jog dial is similar to the one in the RH10, it is easy to operate, it weighs 30g, it has a nice blue light and it's stylish. The drawbacks are: all its features are available only when it's plugged to the NH1. The other recorders/players miss: -No clock. -No recording menu. However some members say the mc40elk are unable to keep the light on when it's plugged to the RH10, this hasn't been confirmed though. On the other hand, the mc35elk (or mc33el) is an universal remote, any Sony device with a remote port can be controled by this one. You can do everything from it, in fact, it's the remote included in the japanese version of the RH10. The mc35elk can display two lines to read group/track at the same time. The drawback is: if you are listening a song and you want to know what song is five tracks (groups) ahead, then you must fast forward (groups +) five times to know. Dunno anything about the mc55elk, I've seen it in the local Sony store next to a cd player but anything else. [attachmentid=615]

  20. can someone (Damage) tell me about the built quality between the Sony MDRV700DJ and the Technics RP-DJ1200K? the Technics comes with miniplug? what about the Technics impedance, some sites say it's 30ohm others say it's higher. Etronics have both under US$100.
  21. Dj Style headphones under US$100: Sony MDR-V700DJ Technics RP-DJ1200 I copy this from a website some time ago, but dont remember where:
  22. Perhaps this is a silly question, can anyone confirm whether datavis really sells the TDK gold/silver 80min minidisc or they just have that picture on their website and ship you another TDK discs? I'm asking this because I'm willing to order a couple of packs, I sent them an email three days ago and got no reply so far, don't want to wait until they are here being unwanted minidiscs . Another thing is how datavis is as e-retailer: good, not so good or "avoid it" Thanx in advance for any help.
  23. really sad news, my father is huge fan of "son cubano", and Ferrer was one of the best. God bless him.
