hey poe, thanks for the reply. No I haven't tried any hacks on this MD unit - or used the controls in my other MD (MZ-R55). I have no idea how i can rectify the problem - unless pulling it apart and cleaning it might help?

So no ones had any problems with there shuttle/remote controls.....? Not even a tech solution to the problem....?

Hi All, Just wondering if any one is facing the same problem and what I can do to remedy it. I have an MZ-N920 with the RM-MC35ELK remote unit. At the moment the track fwd/back/pause button behaves extremely erratically. What occurs is that when I try to switch a track it will do a completely different function. For example pressing forward (next track) will switch to the next album, or switch on one of the sound modes. The same thing happens sometime with the volume adjust - trying to notch it up a little sometimes skips the album track. I take good care of my MD player and have tried a manner of different solutions - figuring that I was pressing too hard or too soft thus somehow jamming the function. This doesn't seem to be the case. I'm wondering if there is any technical solution I can do to the remote to restore it to its former glory. (even tho the volume on the twist has always been a pain in the ass). The remote is not dirty so I'm sure its not sticking and jamming...any other insights? Oh its only been in use from 09/2004 - I have a MZ-R55 remote that still works and that is 7 years old! Thanks in-advance, Ethan

Cheers KJ - but i was also tryin to find out the cheapest japanese prices - as i will be able to get one from there soon. (brother is goin to pick one up on his travels) the more info on where to buy it from, the easier it'll be for him. I think the N910 looks waaayy better than the N920 - so wil prob go for the N910 anyway! Can anyone (especially those residing in Japan) give me any cheap prices they have seen? (for the MZN910) ta.

Sup, I know that if i buy an MD from Japan then the display text will probably be Kanji. Is there any way to change the display characters to western text? (MZN910) If this is possible, how easy is it to do - more specifically what have u got to do? Cheers

hi just wondering what the best prices people have seen for the MZN910. I'm just checkin out all options. Cheapest i've seen - £150 Amazon.co.uk or from one of the forum posts - £127/Yen27000 Bic Camera. Is it possible to get this cheaper than £127 in japan? as i'll be goin in less than a month! Also - are there other key differences from the N920 to the N910 other than cosmetic? cheers
