  1. First, I apologize. My Search Fu must be weak today. I'm betting that my questions are addressed somewhere but I just don't seem to be able to get them to come up in search. I've just recently picked up a 600D for listening. I intend to get a recorder but it will be awhile so I will wait on recording questions. Right now, I really want to know the best way to get my CDs onto Hi-MD. I have 7 1GB disks. Do I rip to MP3 and the convert or do I just use SimpleBurner on each CD in turn. Is my collection (already in MP3 at 192kbps) going to sound terrible on minidisc? Thanks.
  2. Hi folks, I've been interested in getting an MD player for years. I've just never gotten around to it. I'm starting to look now but I'm having a hard time determining what I want. It may even be that MD is not right for me. I need a portable music system (Have about 400 CDs, would love to stop carrying half of that anywhere I go). I need a voice recording system for overly long business meetings. I need a voice recording system for voice talent in multimedia projects I need a music recording system for some amateur projects I am involved in. I had very much hoped that HI-MD would cover all of these (one machine priced at the $280 range is much better than picking up several different pieces of equipment. I'm hearing annoying things about not being able to burn my music or audio recordings and only being able to play them on one computer?!? If this is in fact the case, are there workarounds? Could someone please take a few moments and explain just what HI-MD can and cannot do and how to deal with the cons of the format? If this has already been posted in a concise manner in another thread, please point me at it. I didn't see what I was looking for when I read through the forum earlier. Thanks, Greg
