Okay first of all, i'm sorry.
Seriously sorry, my most humble and sincere apologies to everyone who reads this and just shakes they're head and sighs.
But please, listen to my plight, and if it's already answered then please provide me with a link as to where to find the answer, but first let me outline a problem i'm sure every member here has already read, solved, and shoved to the back of they're mind many, many, months ago.
My story begins....
I bought a nice shiny Aiwa AM70 back, oooh, in the day i guess, digital recording format, shiny, supposedly indestructable format, lovely piece of kit, with a nice Lithium battery, and thats when the MD bit me in the ass, so fast forward a few years, and the AM70 was eaten by the salt air somewhere or other, the smallest ever panasonic MD recorder (i forget the model) was so small that i didn't notice someone stealing it from me, and now i have, a sony MZ-N1, and a NZ-N710 (it was the blue colour), and a Pioneer MEH P5000R for my repmobile, only the problem now lies with two areas.
All my LP2 and LP4 discs don't work in the car, and this awful check in/check out stuff doesn't bode well for a person who lets they're MD players get eaten by the sea air and stolen now does it?
So here's me, stressing that i'm gonna lose my discs, and not be able to check out the files to a player and it's all gonna be so bad because its 4am, i've got work in 3 hours, and i've spent all night copying tracks sloooooooowly in the SP format to my N1 for the car tomorrow (i only bought the pioneer today ) but my problem is kinda as follows
I've only got a 56k modem, recent graduate, bit skint.
- not sure i can afford the phone line time to download the huge Sonic Stage 2.0
- After looking at the threads of it messing up everything on peoples systems, do i risk it?
- Most of my files are organized.... badly lets say, un-named tracks,
tracks not all in playlists, huge downloaded collection alongside huge CD collection put on to my HD when my stereo decided to fall down, so if i do have to download the sonic stage 2.0 software, and install it, will my badly organized files require another night of prodding and poking to get it into order.
Sonic Stage 1.5 has this check in problem
- I've tried, and tried, and tried going through that Mtdata.mdb file to increase the number of check outs, but i just can't figure it out, and i guess i'm hoping someone on the forum can, it does look like my only saviour really
- I even tried the very silly thing of deleting the Mtdata.mdb file, good idea if all your files are labelled nicely, and sorted into tracking listings and named and pretty and so on, if your like me and they aren't, not so good. So good job i made back ups eh kids?
But never to be put down, i read somewhere about Real Player 10 being kinda good, so I've downloaded RealPlayer 10, which i now figure is a bit poo, and doesn't open OMG files, and i don't know if anyones ever tried to look for an OMG plugin for the real player, but i forgot OMG is short term for "oh my god", and every message board ever comes up as a hit in google, which makes tracking down that one illusive link a little tricky.
So i guess what i'm actually asking for after all that typing is,
Does anyone know of a way i can make sonic stage 1.5 not count the files i check out, please, please, please tell me there is a way, without having ot recatalogue gigabytes of omg files, installing any frustratingly bad software, or costing me a million pounds downloading another version of software thats gonna make my PC fall down, and generally lead to all things bad.
I'm even gonna offer a prize, i've got an old Kenwood MD recorder floating around somewhere, i guess it's something no one really wants, but it looks quite nice, and i've been using it via a 3.5mm jack into the microphone input of my old Sony CD-STR so i can play MD's while in the shower. Loudly.
Please help me
