  1. Thanks for your help - I will turn the Quick Mode function off and see if it makes a difference. I think I might also look to upgrade the battery - I am pretty sure there has been some discussion on other boards about batteries that you can upgrade to which have longer life.
  2. Hi I have recently bought a MZNH900 (which I love!) however, I am noticing a problem with the battery. For example, I do a full charge of the MD and then I might not use it for a 2 days (it stays in my bag) and then when I go to use it, it says that I only have a small amount of battery charge left? On occasion, when I have pulled it out of my bag, I have noticed that it is on (I assume because a button has been bumped). I tried to stop this by locking both the remote and the actual MD player but I am still having this problem whereby when I turn it on after not using it for a few days and the battery is flat or nearly flat. Has anyone else had this problem? Any solutions? At the moment, I am just using the soft carry bag that came with the player. Would it be worthwhile to get a "hard" case so that the buttons can't be bumped??
  3. OK - some simple questions re: the above Hi-MDs (I am still trying to get my head around all the pros and cons!): 1. Is the rechargable battery in the 810 removable? 2. If no to Q1, does that mean that in about 12-18 months time I will probably experience trouble with the rechargable battery and not be able to replace it if it is not removable? 3. With the 900, can I combine the use of the rechargeable & alkaline battery to increase the hours of play or do you have to choose one or the other and not both? 4. With the 810, can I combine the use of the rechargeable & alkaline battery to increase the hours of play or do you have to choose one or the other and not both? Thanks for your help. Sorry it is a bit wordy but battery length is quite important to me and if the 810 allows both batteries (i.e rechargeable & alkaline) to work together to get maximum life, then this would probably be better than the 900 which has the dry cell pack that you need to tack onto the bottom of the player as opposed to the 810 alkaline battery compartment is built into the player.
  4. Again - thanks a lot for the info. I think I will continue to save my pennies and get the MZNH900 when it is released in the UK (I think about 14/8?). That way, hopefully I will be getting something that won't be out-of-date quickly and has all of the features I want and has the bonus of increasing battery length (with the detachable dry pack). Cheers guys - I am now a  camper!
  5. Thanks for the info - it is useful. Just a question about the AA form something... what is this? Does this mean that it is a rechargeable battery that cannot be removed? I understand what dry packs are and gumsticks but not sure about the form thingy?? BTW - I don't think we can get the 505 or 510 in the UK? Haven't seen them on any websites
  6. I have been saving for a little while and am just about ready to buy my first MD. Need a little advice first though  . I have decided to go with a NetMD rather than an IPod as battery length is important to me (long haul flights etc). I also want a Net MD that has replaceable batteries for when I am travelling. I would ideally like a radio (however I have not read anything terribly favouable about the radios - generally poor reception/quality). I have very basic needs - no recording, something which I can just burn CDs onto or download music from the web. So... 1. Are the radios any good (I don't want to limit my choice if they are crap) 2. The non Hi-MD players seem to be more in my price range however I don't want to buy something and then find in 6 months time that it is out-of-date and I am unable to buy discs for it etc. Should I save more and go for a Hi-MD player? Can you please recommend which player would be good for me. The ones that I am looking at are the MZNF610/810 (depending on the response to question 1) or another Hi-MD (without a radio) - if so, which one would suit my needs? thanks
