    Dilema

Well my MZ-NH600S purchased here in the United Kingdom did NOT come with a blank either. Luckily as i have already stated in another post the remote & ac adapter from my old MZ-R700 work with my new himd, Just gotta wait for the 1GB blanks to reach our shores now! :wacky:
  2. Just a quick note to say i have the european 600 model & it has a single input which you can use to record external signals via optical lead & analogue lead (not just optical only) It also has the facility to use a remote (which i never use anyway)& ac power in (which i will need to use for 34 hour long recording sessions) Both the remote control & ac adapter from my now dead mz-r700 work fine with my european model MZ-NH600S. I am a dj as well & previously used my mz-r700 to record my 6000+ record collection on to 200 + discs (& rising-lol) in lp4 mode. It was the storage capacity of the discs plus the ease of use of the md/hi-md format in general that swung me this way-i love md's! The jog dial isnt a problem either-i use my fingernails- Kris M
  3. Thanks for the info, I think i will just have to do as you suggested, & rerecord everything via analogue in hi sp (when i eventually get my hands on some himd discs-lol) In the meantime i can carry on using my standard discs & record in lp4. By the way No thats not me, Its my wife! She is cute though! Kris M
  4. Yes it does have the remote jack & ac power jack too, The s on the end of the 600 denotes the colour, In this case my model which is silver, Kris M.
  5. I would expect a himd in car head unit to follow the himd portable & blank media release. Usually about a year later as with mdlp! I am thinking along the same lines as i use a SONY MDS-JB940QS home deck,My new SONY MZ-NH6000s (european model) HIMD portable (but no blank himd discs yet so use inl p4 mode) & a KENWOOD KMD-673R MDLP HEAD UNIT in car. I thought having 5 hours of music on one disc was wicked, But to be able to record 34 hours worth on one disc will be fantastic. Quality has not been an issue for me either using lp4, Most of the stuff i listen to is grainy & distorted anyway. My primary reson for going the md route was as a digital replacement for audio cassettes & being able to move/delete etc. Roll on HIMD Head Units!!!! Kris M.
  6. Just quick note, The remote from my now defunct MZ-R700-model number RM-MZ4R seems to work fine with my european MZ-NH600S, So does the mains adapter from the MZ-R700. I have not gone in to depth with titling etc yet, But the basic,HOLD,PLAY.FF,REW,VOLUME UP/DOWN ETC work fine. Not a big deal to me however as i never used the remote in the 1st place which is why it was left in a drawer & forgotten about. But this may be of use to someone if you only require the remote for basic functions, Kris M.
  7. I have been ringing around myself & have been told to expect hi md discs from middle of september/end of october/start of november in the UK. Thanks for the suggestion, Only problem being that i dont actually have any cd's' All my music is on vinyl, (acid house, techno, old skool house, bleeps, hardcore,d&b,gabba, etc) I suppose i will simply have to rerecord everything via my turntables & mixer to hi md discs when i can get them! It took me 6 months to do the last lot. Shame i cant simply upload my existing lp4 discs. Why do sony have to make things so difficult? When i first saw hi md players & the disc capacity & the fact you could upload your stuff i was overjoyed. Maybe a case of premature enjoyculation!-lol Cheers, Kris M.
  8. Hi Everyone, I have just received my MZ-NH600S. So far i am really pleased with it, It is a similar size to my MZ-R700 which is now dead-(lol) & slightly lighter. But i have 200+ minidiscs recorded in lp4 of my 6000+ record collection that i wanted to transfer to hi md in hi lp mode & then upload to my pc. Thanks to previous threads i have seen the limitations placed on uploaded material & found out that i must copy my already recorded mdlp discs manually via analogue to hi md to upload them-BUT- Where the hell in the United Kingdom can i lay my hands on some HI MD 1GB DISCS? Any help would be much appreciated  Thanks peeps, Kris M
