Perhaps some of you may have read about the "reboot" issue I and another forum member were having. My MZ-NH1 is a few months old, and has always been used in normal mobility context: commuting to and from work, no sports. Last week the frequency of the reboots became so high (after about 10 seconds playing) that I now consider it officially broken :-( I have my guarantee hidden somewhere in the boxes (I am relocating from Italy to the UK) so I cannot do anything by now. I hope for you that the fact that only two of us had this problem represents effectively the fact that the issue is rare. Anyway, be careful if it should happen to yours, Giacecco

I emptied the disc and filled it again... and it didn't happen again yet :-/ Data corruption? Very tempted to get to the Apple Store in Regent Street this very night.

The resets have become so frequent that I can't actually use the minidisc. I have tried if they happen without using the remote, and they do. I tried not to move the minidisc at all while listening, and they happened again. Moreover I now live in the UK, but I bought the stuff when I was in Italy: will my guarantee be valid if I give it to fix it? Giacecco

It happened to me too. It is a rare behaviour but it happens. Being rare, it is difficult to relate it to a particular context, and to understand why it happens. I cannot say if it is related to the disc... sometimes I thought the reset could be an answer to an unexpected error when reading from the disc. Last time it happened it did it twice within 15 minutes... the same HI-Md disc, different points of it. I was standing, going to work... no mechanical shocks. Certainly a software issue. I look forward to an unpdate... moreover, if they will be able to let it digest natively MP3s as well I will be happy. Giacecco

Thank you all, but there is no personal firewall on, Windows' own or others. Moreover, the strange thing is that nothing happens when I click on Register...

Suddenly the CDDB CD recognition stopped working. SonicStage 2.2 says I am not registered to GraceNote. I then go in Tools|Options|Get CD Info|CDDB, click on "Register..." and nothing happens. Any ideas? Giacecco

The hold button on the remote seemed off but it wasn't... completely. I was able to move between songs sometimes, and sometimes not, it seemed ad electrical issue. Well, I then started assuring me that the switch was "very off", and everything went fine :-) Giacecco

I would not speak too early, but after I put the MZ-NH1 on the charger it started working again. I guess this issue should go straight to the FAQ :-/

Thank you jadeclaw but I already tried that. This is why I will try leaving it without the battery for the whole night... I cannot belive that a SS crash could damage the hardware...

I am sure you understand I am DESPERATE. I have just bought a new MZ-NH1, and was uploading several songs on a 1 Gb disc, when SonicStage 2.1 crashed. After that, the MZ-NH1 is not able to recognize it contains a disc or not, and always says "No disc", even with other older working minidiscs. Nothing more to say. It's 11 pm, the only thing I can do is remove the battery and hope that it is some firmware issue going away with the night. Of course I will need to take it back to the shop... but why me!!! :-((( Giacecco
