Kinda figured optimized files weren't what I thought they were. Gonna have to try that burning thing. Only got 40 gigs and I have about 19 left. THNX all.

Tried to find a thread on this but couldn't find the same problem I'm having. Using SS 3.4. I was looking through the folder (in windows explorer) where all my MD files are (default destination with 3.4), and came across the Optimzed songs (or files). There were quite a few. The optimzed ones are a hell of a lot smaller in size, but they were songs i had in the regular sormat. I think it's 160 lossless atrac3. So I deleted the optimized files since I didn't know anything about it. Then I figured it be better to actually have all the files optimized so I could save space. I looked up Optimized in the help and followed the instructions. SS shutdown, like it said it would. Then after restarting SS, nothing changed. No optimized songs files in the folder and all the other siles were the same size as before. Do you know what I am doing wrong? Is there someplace I can look for answers. I've tried the help in SS but it just tells me how to optimize and nothing more. That don't work, unless I am totally missing what optimized is. Any help would be great. Ooops, saw the message not to post this here but can't see where to delete it.

Damnit, did it to me again. First time I try to post it never shows, so I make a post again and then the first one shows up.

No Problem. Figure you read a lot of these all day bound to happen once and awhile. I don't have a computer anymore. The one I use to do this is in my apartment complexes office. I can't install anything. I would love to be able to use a computer to do this, be so much better.

No, I am not using SonicStage 2.3.

The player/recorder I have is a MZ-N510, incase knowing that will help people here figure out what is wrong... or what I am doing wrong. Also I am doing this from a stereo to a MD, not a computer. I am obvisously doing something wrong or just not understanding it, here's the problem. My MD is set to record in LP4 Stereo mode and (with a 80 minute disc) get approx. 320 minutes. I am using a 74 minute disc and expect the amount of recording to be smaller, that isn't the problem. Using the player/recorder I can check the remaining time for recording and with a bank disc (74 Minutes) the remaining time reads 299:57. The disc I am trying to record onto has 14 tracks already on it. Nothing long like a Blue Oyster Cult song, just average songs. When I check the remaining time for this disc I get a time of 237:42. The Problem is when I got to add a track (4:57) the recorder stops before the song is done playing. Cutting it off in the middle. I've checked and double checked the connections, read and reread the manual to make sure everything is as it should be. I can't figure it out. Thus is must be a Loose nut behind the MD. Oh, when I put the problem disc into the player, without the MD starting to play, I get a time of 60:55. I assume that is the length of the material already recorded on the MD. Any ideas what's going on? It's either a disc or machine mulfuntion, or more likely I user error. Something I am missing and just not understanding. ****EDIT**** Forgot about this. Also when recording tracks they sometimes skip backwards a few seconds. Usually a re-recording them fixes the skip. There is one track that skips no matter what. Always this same track and always at the same spot. Now I have checked the source and there is no skip only when I record it.

What a name like 'MDX-400', 'kurisu', or mine isn't anonymous enough?

OUt of all on that list (thnx again BTW) I heard of only one and it wasn't good. Anyone out there like one of these companies over another?

Shoot, forgot to mention the page locked up on me. Couldn't do anything with the page, even close it. Also, obvisously, I had a brain fart. :wacky: I got to get that page to work. You really shouldn't know more about my stereo than me. lol

I haven't a clue as to what TOTX178 is.

Here's a service manual for my stereo. http://www.promelec.ru/scheme/HCD-MC1.pdf Damned if I can find anything except a service manual for this.

That was meant as a joke. Ya know what they say... "If you have to tell people it's a joke then you shouldn't be telling jokes."

Kurisu seems to really like his Sharp. I personally have had too many Sharp products that crap out on me to ever buy another Sharp product.

Before I answer.... is this considered a 'Family Forum'?

I am sure I missed something here. But what's the big deal about them? That sounds like attitude but it ain't, really am curious.
