  1. do any of the HI MD models allow you to adjust the recording level on the fly while recording in PCM mode??? did sony fix this issue yet. i've been out of the loop a little bit on HI MD since when they first came out there was no media but i'm looking at them again.....thanks for any help. ninjadave
  2. hey all, well, i'm breaking down and finally upgrading my recording device to either a JB3 or some other unit, but in the mean time, since i don't have any real shows to record in the near future, i'm trying to offload my recorder to pay for the new one. this is a great starter combo, just add a nice pair of mics and you got it all. Sharp Mini Disc MT877 Silver. It is in great working shape, a total workhorse. I've taped about 25-30 or so shows with it over the past 2 years. I have the original box and all accessories including, charging stand, remote (never used), battery case, optical wires and other cords, etc. Everything in working order. I will ship in original retail box and packaging with original paperwork and manual, etc. I save everything. original price was $200. I also have the SP-6 battery box with Bass rolloff. its in good shape and has worked great for me,. new battery this summer, 24" cord with manual. retail $69. I never used the roll off so I'm going to get a new one with level controls instead as i think that may come in handy with my new unit (whatever it is). i ran my SP-CMC-8 cardioid mics with this and can send samples. i pulled nice tapes running SP speed. will throw in a couple minidiscs (if you want them all - 25 or more, then that is $10) - some used once, some twice). looking for $140 ($90/$40/$10) which includes shipping to USA/canada, insured. would sell separately if i can offload all but it'll be a little higher since separate shipping and fees....would prefer to sell as one. i can take paypal but money order is ok as well. thanks for looking. ninjadave ( i have references too since i'm fairly a newbie here - well known on the RUSH DRE board).
  3. i hope i don't get flamed for this but i think its a valid question..does this method create a PURE DIGITAL copy, bit to bit perfect, of the WAV file? its not "resampled" by the sound card or any other device? i'm not sure if the definition of digital copy has been laid out here as i know some people define it differently. my worry is just because its a digital connection, doesn't mean its a bit perfect digital copy if the soundcard is somehow involved.... i'm just a bit cofused on how it works exacty since that dreaded soundcard word is mentioned....it would seem that maybe its not purely digital and that it may be subject to other limits of the system. thanks for any help guys in clearing this up. ninjadave.
  4. have a basically new SP Preamp for sale (see www.soundprofessionals.com). i used it with a JB3 but got rid of the unit since it was too big to tape with. only used to tape 5 bands. retails for $179. asking $125 or best offer. will ship for free. thanks. ninjadave.
