Well what are the pros and cons for an mp3 player and minidisc player?

whats better a mp3 player or a minidisc player?

Hey I am a noob and i was wondering if someone could help me chose betweeen a flash based mp3 player and a hi-md mini disc player I love fm radios and love to listen to music through the night also i i like a slim design and it has to be 300$ or less I am also in canada thanks for the help!
