ok...do u have another solution except of buying the sony cardreader? what about an i-pod?

hi i read that u can transfer data from a memory stick to a hi-md by using the sony card reader mcmd-r1. but can u use any card reader? because the no-name card readers are much cheaper. i need one because ill go on a trip and i need to put my photos on the hi-md. thanks!
