We're having this same problem. And we tried all the options suggested here, without success. We have two Sonyi HI MD's and get the same MEDIA/DEVICE NOT CONNECTED on 5 BRAND NEW Imacs. Can anyone recommend a recorder that can work for radio reports in the field with top quality and Mac compatability. We're about to give up on Sony

Thanks for the advice. I downloaded "MD Transfer 2.0" but still the reading says "MEDIA/DEVICE NOT CONNECTED" We have two different Sony MD's and get the same reading from both.

We use intel MACS OSX 10.4.10 Record with HI MD MZ-M200 When attempting download on two different computers we had the message "Media/Device not detected." The cords are OK; what should we attempt to extract our interviews? We've hit brick walls everywhere on this one

Hey I figured it out. All files were selected. When I changed that and simply ticked the appropriate track the transfer to .wav went fine. Sorry :laugh:

OK why does it stop transfer around 70 per cent of the way through? At least that's what's happening to me! :ohmy:
