  1. Thanks Aeriyan, I just might do that. I have since found out that you CAN buy the Rotary Commander separately from Sony, but the wan't $33.95 for it! If you add that to the $20 plus it will cost you for the rest of the car kit, I might just as well buy a Sony CD player brand new WITH the car kit. I can get something like that for less than $50 probably. I can give the CD player away and keep the car kit. But the remote is a cool idea. What do they go for? $25? Thanks again. And I like your picture. I'm trying to figure out whether I'm disturbed by it or turned on. But perhaps I've said too much. TR
  2. Three things: Sorry, I forgot to mention that, of course, I'm willing to BUY the car kit from some kind soul, and... I realize after looking at the manual for the 510, that it can't possibly work with my 410s because that model doesn't have the remote control/headphone combo input. But that's no big deal, it should work with the 505s, and... The name of the thing that really makes it useful for the car is the Rotary Commander. There, now I don't sound quite so stupid. Thanks. 3. :wacky: Hello: I am looking for JUST the car kit to use with a Sony Minidisc Recorder/Player. I would like something like the one packaged with the 510CK or similar. I can get a cassette adapter anywhere, but what I'm really looking for is the SONY package because I need that round dial-like remote. This is for my son to use in his car. I don't want him reaching down and fiddling with buttons on the player itself. That's why the round thing is important. I have 3 MZ-N505s and 2 MZ-NE410s. I'm not sure, but the car kit should work with the 505s for sure and maybe the 410s. If anyone has any hard knowledge on that, I'm open to advice. Used is wonderful, providing they work and are in good shape. If there is a place to buy just the SONY car kit new, I'd appreciate a link to that as well. Whatever help I can get will be appreciated. 4. Does anyone know if it is possible to record using a powered microphone through the Line In jack on a Sony Minidisc 505? I have a Sony microphone that is powered by a battery -- I believe it is a model 907 or something. I know it cost about $70. Just wondering. Maybe it's a stupid question, but I'm unsure about the technical differences between a line in or optical line in and a microphone input. Any help will be appreciated.
