  1. i can really never see sony bypassing their own software to offer drag and drop functionality. For one it does not encourage users to 'buy in'to sony's connect music store and it also would elimate sony from the users desktop environment which would in sony's eyes not be a forward looking strategy. It sucks...but it is business
  2. yea I agree with you campekenobi. I still just use hi md’s much in the same way as I have always used md’s – by putting one or two albums on each disk. I do however use my one and only hi md disc for longtrips and for high quality recording.
  3. I aint that keen on the i trip (i have an md car head unit) but one of the advantages of having an ipod is the plethora of cool gadgets for you player. As a user of a ‘specialist’ as opposed to mainstream technology us md users will never see as many cool things to spend our money on. Bummer eh?
  4. yep, you can reformat the standard disk to increase the capacity but then this disc will only play on HI MD devices. If you want your discs to play on net md and mdlp units you can use a regular disc, just be sure not to format the disc in SonicStage before you transfer tracks to it. I personally do not reformat discs as I have spent years putting a minidisc device in important places - car bedroom etc and I do not want to start again (yet).
  5. Backlight on main unit Track mark on all remotes
  6. I would advise making the move and getting your music onto a pc so you that can transfer to multiple devices. I think everyone is agreed that while HI MD is not the future by having all your music on a pc you are pretty flexible when the move to a new medium eventually happens.
  7. Thanks for all the helpfull comments...a mixed bag really. I think I will wait and see if one comes up cheap on ebay.
  8. I am the proud and happy owner of a MZ-NH900. Apart from the usual software problems the only real downer is the remote. Is it worth the $80 to splash out and get the top of the range Sony RM-MC40ELK Universal Hi-MD remote? thanks
