It's not just Sony. I'm dating myself, but years ago I threw a bunch of money into the Apple II computer with loads of software. Apple decided one day to drop the line and drop support. I have never bought another Apple product since (and hope I never do). Companies lose sight of the fact that by betraying customers, they can lose them for life. I love the MD format, but I agree, Sony has never done a good job of promoting it. (Unfortunately, Apple beats them hands down on that count.)
