all MDs have used the buffer for recording
-
on the unit itself you can only record directly with 128kbps MP3, but you can transfer 32-320kbps MP3 from SonicStage

USB2.0 is backwards compatible with USB1.1 which is already too fast for MDs. Writing to a HiMD disc will never even max out a USB1.1 conenction so no there will be no increase in speed -
my computer also gets bogged down at 100% CPU usage although, thats only on converting a file (i guess they decided they might as well go hard and short instead of slow and long)
-
has anyone conducted similar tests with version 3.0?
-
no in my personal tests ive only had it peak around 900KB/s but it usually hovers between 200-500KB/s which is about 1.3x - 3.3x CD-ROM speed
-
yes it is but it will have to convert it first, which is done on the fly
-
HiMD takes upwards of 20min+ to fill 1GB
-
-What happens if a disc with an MP3 on it is inserted into a 1st Gen HiMD player?
-
that's retarted, why would they do that in the 2nd gen and not the first? and why would they do it period?
-
-prices lol in case you missed it -firmware updates -just have them hand over the units and no one gets hurt
-
lol nice ya i think Sony writes all their MD apps on XP machines, does anyone else here run Win2K and are you also getting the same problems?
-
plus its just convinent because it can also play standard MD (obviously)

it looks very pretty although 1.3MP is kinda small, but not bad for fooling around and such. Also its nice that you can link covers to albums. Depending on the price it might actually go somewhere but we'll have to wait and see -
what kind of computer do you have? Which OS are you running? MD programs usually run best with Windows XP Serive Pack 2 Also for Windows XP to run moderately well you need at least 256MB of RAM if you have just 256MB or RAM or if you have even less then running anything else with the MD programs (which are known to be resource hoggers) will probably cause a problem (or a very, very slow computer) It could also be your CPU but to a lesser extent

hmm i actually do not know, i dont have an optical cable to test this out, anyone else know?
-
SonicStage 2.3 does not do this and it is the biggest mistake I think Sony could have made I guess SonicStage 3.0 is coming out soon (before spring 2005 lol) and hopefully that will allow you to. For the time being you actually have to delete the version you dont want to be transfered in order to force it to use the other one
-
out of curiocity, you aren't able to simultaneously use and charge the HiMD are you? Like im talking Rechargeable AA kinds (600,700,800)
-
try using the SB2 version found on this forum instead, do a search from the main page for 'SB2 Download' I know on my computer it sometimes has troubles finding the disc if there is more than one audio disc inserted (i have 2 CD-ROM drives). It normally only sees the most recent inserted disc

oh god.... i just realized how big of nerds we all must really be.... oh well
-
you cant upload something you've recorded digitally
-
well unless your CDs are only 15min long, then it defintley is shorter to do the lp2 route
-
you could always record in SP via real time line in cabel
-
well i say that because that way theres no excuses, use the best of what you have, the highest avilable bit rate and see what happens!
-
yes i meant uploaded and i *meant* to state HiMD formatted discs only. btw where u been dex? on vacation lol good to see you posting again
