Hi, I'm a trumpet player and I want to record my practice sessions to help me hear what needs improvement. I am currently using a Sony MZ37 recorder and I have 2 mic's one from Church Audio, and one from Visivox. Both mics distort when I'm playing loud, and after reading this forum I realize that I'm probably overloading the Preamp of the MZ37. I tried the Radio Shack attenuator, with mixed results. It seems to work better with the Church Audio mic than with the Visivox, but each mic has it's problems with this setup. So my question is, if I upgrade to a brand new Sony MHF800 will the new features (and the HI/LOW mic sensitivity setting) fix my distortion problems ? Thanks for any advice !!
