  2. Greetings to the list. I'm trying to figure out my new MZ NHF 800 with MS907 rig. I'm able to make recordings of myself playing the banjo. but the level is pitiably low. Even with the Mic level set to High sensitivity and with manual levels set all the way at 30/30 and the mic about three inches from the banjo head, I never get near the 12 dB point on the screen. When I play back, I have to crank the headphone volume to hear it. I'm guessing there's something real simple that I'm missing, but what is it? While I'm at it, is there any way to make the recorder default to manual level set rather than auto? Thanks for your help. JR
