What about the conversion bitrate? its a 64kbpsATRAC3plus Should i put it at 256kbps? wold that fix it?

i got it today and i downloaded the song and so i listend to it, It was flat no bass and i have all these rap songs that sound really weird is there any settings for bass? i couldnt find it in the menu and did i burn it wrong? also whats settings should my equalizer for rap songs?
