  1. You will need to locate the Service Center near your location. Please call Sony Canada or use this Sony Canada Service Centre Locator. If you are near Montreal: Sony Service Centre Montreal 7955, Route Transcanadienne, Ville St. Laurent, , H4S 1L3 Telephone: 8778997669 As for battery life, it is relative to user's usage.
  2. Thanks for being objective, Leon.
  3. It is definitely most unfortunate that VAIO products do not support multi-language text since it’s now a common feature in portable audio device. However, please note that the VAIO Pocket (started with the VGF-AP1) was first developed solely for the Japanese domestic market then released in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific - it was never intended for other East Asian market. So, you could factor this into why there is no Hangul support. But then, this is just my opinion. Another factor you should consider is that the VAIO pocket was designed by the VAIO division and not the Walkman division. From my experience with VAIO products, multi-language support is usually limited to English, Japanese and Chinese. In addition, I don't believe the engineers at Sony is that inept so to speak (in reference to Apple Computer: I read that ex-VAIO engineers were now employed to assist with future Powerbook development in heat related issue – an example of their know-how); rather, you should blame the absence of multi-language support on departmental bureaucrats. The lack of Hangul support is definitely a poor oversight rather than a philosophical choice. Hopefully, the next VAIO Pocket variant - that is if there is one - will have multi-language support.
  4. Welcome to ALC! The VAIO Pocket as is most Sony portable audio device does not support Hangul text (except for D-NE20, D-NE920 and likely the new NW-E400/500 series).
  5. Thanks for the review, Leon. The included pictures were thoughtful indeed. How does the B&O A8 compared to the ATH-CK5?
  6. Were you able to utilize MONOmation with ease?
  7. You can install over the existing version 3.1 (if that is what you have); and of course, as a safeguard please backup your library before the update. If your library is not large, I would recommend that you reconvert your CDs to ATRAC3plus format without the DRM - it's better in the long run.
  8. SonicStage 3.2 is officially available since end of July - please check with the "Sonicstage 3.2 [all Regions] - Download Links" thread. *some region is still waiting for its official release.
  9. We had a thread about the B&O A8 earphone earlier this Spring but was lost due to an avoidable technical issue. If you are intrigued with the B&O A8 earphone, please read its review in the following order: 1 and 2; and do check out user impressions at headfi.
  10. Welcome to MDCF. Unfortunately, the answer to your first query is no - if you want to experience ATRAC3plus, you will need to get a Hi-MD device. *thread moved to its proper section of the forum.
  11. Sony Service and Repair center is pretty efficient. Its turnaround time is usually 10-12 business days from the day it receive the item in question.
  12. Welcome to MDCF! Please note that new ATRAC3plus bit rates are only available for use with ATRAC device such as the PSP, HDD and Flash based units. You can't utilize the new bit rates for any Hi-MD device at the moment.
  13. Welcome to ALC. All regional version of SonicStage 3.2 are identical with only significant difference in its Music Service module. You can definitely use the NW-E407 (purchased in Canada) with any version of SonicStage 3.2. No risk whatsover.
  14. Welcome to ALC. You are unable to transfer the tracks due to existing DRM properties within the track in question. Please follow up at MDCF, our sister forum for all MiniDisc related discussion.
  15. I couldn't agree more with Adrian. Home use: big cans; Portable use: Eggos.
  16. Thanks Andy. Most of my pictorials were shot with the Canon G5 or EOS 1Ds Mk.II. This pictorial was shot with the former.
  17. Thanks for setting up the guide, tmsnyder. I have pinned the guide accordingly. Thanks again.
  18. That simply means "the tradition to continue." In this case, "the tradition to continue with Technics"
  19. Welcome to ALC! According to Sony Netherlands, the CDX-F5550, CDX-R3350 and CDX-R6650 support ATRAC3plus and Mp3. Thus, it should support ATRAC3plus 256kbps, 64kbps, 48kbps and likely ATRAC3 132kbps, 105kbps, 66kbps as well as ATRAC (SP) 292kbps. With the advent of SonicStage 3.2, there are new additional ATRAC3plus bit rates: 320kbps, 192kbps, 160kbps, 128kbps and 96kbps; and there's a possibility that the car unit may support at least one of these new bit rates.
  20. The 1GB Hi-MD disc package shown above is of European market (available via Amazon.com Germany); and the disc itself is identical to the North American release.
  21. You are right; the two page option seems to work only with the basicx. We will rectify this oversight in due time.
