From your location, the best place would be Canada if it's still under warranty. Otherwise you can try your luck with certified Sony Repair Centers in the United States. Drop me pm and I can provide you with a few recommended repair centers by Sony USA.

Some older NetMD drivers were "conveniently" excluded from the Personal Audio Drivers of SonicStage 3.1; for example, the MDS-JB980. So, the remedy is to install the ones provided with SS 1.5.
-
Michael, you will need to install the NetMD drivers provided by the SS 1.5 CDROM that comes bundled with the bookshelf. Just venture into the CDROM and extract or locate the setup file for the drivers.

Yes, the VAIO Pocket can be used as an external portable HDD; serving as portable media. When the VAIO Pocket is connected to a computer via USB, it is recognized by the computer as a removable hard disk, allowing data read and write. -

Unfortunately, the VAIO Pocket does not support video playback. To transfer music, you can use either the Music Move utility (known as VAIO Music Transfer in Europe/USA) or SonicStage. In difference to SonicStage, Music Move is a drag-and-drop utility, which helps facilitate the transfer of music files from your computer to the VAIO Pocket. The utility converts WAV and WMA format files to the ATRAC format and transfers them accordingly to the player. As for Mp3s, it can be transferred in their original format and bit rate. -

I paid about $300 for the VAIO Pocket last Christmas. It's relatively cheaper now - about $250. If I remember it correctly, the VAIO Pocket was released during June, 2004. Besides audio support for the following format: WMA, WAV, Mp3, ATRAC3 and ATRAC3+, the VAIO Pocket provides one with the pleasure to view pictures and album jackets via its 2.2in, 320 x 256 QVGA color screen. In addition, you can transfer pictures directly from digital cameras via USB Cable. However, you will need its cradle to do so; which is not as inconvenient as one would think. But I hardly use this feature. -
You're most welcome.

As Damage stated in his review, B(h)angraman gave great reviews for the XD200 - read here. So, go for it since you can't locate the XD400 in Australia. The XD200 is indeed too big for school use; but hey, you will be "out" there should you wear it to lectures.

The Network Walkman drivers for NW-E407 is embedded or if you will included in SonicStage 3.1. I suspect it did not install during your SonicStage 3.1 installation. You can either try once more by using the link here or venture into the SonicStage CD-ROM that comes with your NW-E407 --> go into the the following folder: Device-->Driver and locate the appropriate Network Walkman Drivers for the NW-E407. I believe there are at least 3 variations of Network Walkman Drivers from the SonicStage 3.0 CDROM. Good luck and do let us know how it goes.

Ok, just make sure that your friend resides in Japan. Japanese etailer will not ship to international address.

Petter, most of MDCF's members ordered the RH10 via eBay or have a friend purchased it on their behalf. If you want to try eBay, here's a reputable seller that most of MDCF's member had frequent: sunnylife_jp. The Japanese seller offers all four color scheme: blue, orange, silver and black. Please note the total including shipping fees is still relatively cheaper than AudioCubes.
