Yea that was the problem. Duh! Thanks very much. Anyone else with this problem can find the solution here: http://www.sony.net/Products/OpenMG/support/840987/ Saz ***

Also, I do have an internet connection on this work pc but we're required to provide a username and password for the internet each time eg. when we open internet explorer and go to a site outside the lan. When i try sonicstageinstaller.exe it just says there was a problem connecting to the server and exits and doesn't prompt for a username and password. If i could get around this i could try the other installer... Saz ***

Hi, I just installed sonicstage 3.1 with the internet free installer in teh downloads section. When i open sonicstage the splashscreen appears for a second and then i get "Omgjbox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Any ideas why this might be? Perhaps that sonicstage is only a US version?? I'm in Ireland. Thanks, Sarah

I nearly cried I was so happy! I'd been trying to get it working for so long. I was nearly at the stage where i was going to ask college if i could bring my tower down and connect it to the network SonicStage 3.0 is so fast too! And its so easy to upload and change to wav format! I nearly had a panic attack when transferring some of my fav live recordings and they disappeared from my md and didn't transfer! Then I remembered I'd transferred them a week ago in openMG format PHEW! Whats with the 'only uploading to computer once' thing anyway? Wait.. don't answer that... I wouldn't want to lose focus for the person who initally posted the topic Saz ***

ITS WORKING! YIPEE! I dont know why i didn't think of this earlier - basically my problem was that i was able to install it but it couldn't read my mini disc. So my solution is to remove the previous version of sonicstage 2.0. Then i found the driver on the SonicStage 2.0 cd and ran that setup file [it was in drivers -> ma i think]. Next i think it was the following files i installed: http://qw-cx-ssd.sonypictures.com/download.../common/wmf.zip http://qw-cx-ssd.sonypictures.com/download.../common/msc.zip http://qw-cx-ssd.sonypictures.com/download...mmon/openmg.zip http://qw-cx-ssd.sonypictures.com/download...er/us/sonic.zip I didn't bother installing this because its the connect store: http://qw-cx-ssd.sonypictures.com/download...er/us/addon.zip This wouldn't install because i had the wrong os or os version (i just realized i only have XP SP1 and not SP2 so thats probably why: http://qw-cx-ssd.sonypictures.com/download.../common/msi.zip I didn't need to install this because i have it already: http://qw-cx-ssd.sonypictures.com/download...r/common/dx.zip I didn't install this either because i saw a message with someone recommending not to: http://qw-cx-ssd.sonypictures.com/download...common/mdac.zip This is the driver that was in the original download list but it doesn't recognize my NH900 hiMD so i'm not sure what its for: http://qw-cx-ssd.sonypictures.com/download...mmon/driver.zip So everythings working perfectly now and i'm happy not to bug the forums anymore! the only thing i did notice that i'm missing is the option to write to a cd - i dont plan on doing that with sonicstage anyway so i don't mind. Thanks, I'll give that a try later. What I don't understand is how it affected my other drive? Surely the other drive would still use the same driver. I guess i'll soon find out! Saz ***

Its the only way i can install it without an internet connection. I'll give it another lash i suppose! Why does it need to register with the server anyway? It that for the connect store? Saz ***

Damn Right, and i'm a 'ol lady not a chap by the way. Basically i dont give a crap bout Connect. I tried installing Sonicstage 3.0 and it can't read my nh900 and i can't find a solution why! I'm not sure if it could be something to do with using the link in my second message above to install the files seperately rather than the SonicStageInstaller. Otherwise there must be a problem with my pc? But if SonicStage 2.0 could read it then i don't see why SonicStage 3.0 can't unless its the wrong version. I've a feeling its not time to blow out the candles just yet! Saz ***

Oh and i downloaded the SonicStage 3.0 files from teh link in this message: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=9058 I also tried installing the driver on the European site instead of the one in the link above but it made no difference. Thanks, Saz ***

Does anyone know if SonicStage 3.0 can be used in europe i.e. i'm in ireland myself. I noticed on the UK site the newest version of sonic stage available for download is 2.1. Sony Europe Download page I tried downloading the files for SonicStage 3.0 and installing but it couldn't read my hiMD. I can't use the SonicStageInstaller because i don't have an internet connection at home ( i download all the files I need in college and bring them home on my USB ). At the moment I'm stuck with SonicStage 2.0 which is a pain in the hole because i can't use the Wav/mp3 convertor! Can anyone shed light on this for me? Saz *** I'm using Windows XP, SP 2.

Hi, I'm having a problem with Simple Burner. It no longer recognizes my cd drive! if i go into 'config' neither of my two drives come up in the option list. If i open the cd drives and close them one of them will be displayed in the option list but it doesn't let me test them (the start button underneath wont become enabled). It no longer recognizes either of my drives to transfer from cd straight to md! Any Ideas? I was using an old version of sonicstage. I think it stopped recognizing the drives when i installed my dvd re-writer. None of my other programs are having difficulty reading either of my drives. I'm using Windows XP. I tried installing the newest version of sonic stage but it didn't make any difference. Saz ***

I chose the NH900 over the NH1 for battery life! I travel a lot so the battery life is really important! Its so handy being able to connect a double A battery when u forget to charge it too. As far as i remember the NH1 doesn't have that but i cant be sure. ...Just read the other messages now. If having a much lower battery life doesn't bother you then get the nh1 i'd say.

I want to use the wav conversion tool, but to install that i have to upgrade my sonic stage to at least version 2.1 (i think). So i downloaded version 2.1 but it would not install because i wasn't connected to the internet. I dont have an internet connection or phone line in my house (student houses - go figure) so is there any other versions of Sonic Stage above 2.0 that don't require an internet connection?? Thanks, Saz ***
