  1. That is exactly what I had in mind. I always try and ask first, that way I don't blaze any trails. Someone else may have already traveled the same path. D

    Linux User

I am a confirmed linux user. I would like to be able to upload and download to a HiMD using linux. I do have a small XP(spit) partition that I could use if I absolutely have to. I am not big on anything propriotary as you may be able to tell. Do any of you know of any linux solutions? If not could you recommend a decent windows(spit) program? David
  3. Thank's Guys!! This is helpful information. David
  4. Good Morning everyone, I have a daughter that will be starting college in the fall. I would like to get her set up with a MD so she can record her class lectures. I would like to find a used one and have been looking on EBay but I am not sure which ones will record with a mic. I would like to keep the cost below $75 as she is a little scatter brained and could possibly lose it. Could any of you give me recommendations(model#) for one that will record with a mic and also mark the track? I would like to get her set up so she can practice with it before having to rely on it. Thank's David
  5. This is exactly the kind of info I am looking for. I really don't care about the format I use. I only care about the results. I would also really like advice on hardware. I will check out the HiMD forum. Thanks D
  6. Hi, I am new to this forum and I am looking for some advice. I would like to record local music from clubs, parties and concerts. I have fooled around with an old MZ-R70 and have had some success. I would like to know if there is a MD that I can record with transfer my music to my computer in an excellerated mode, not real time. I am not particular about the format of the music, but I would like to be able to convert it to mp3 and/or wma and be able to burn it to cd to play in my truck. I am open to any and all advice, MD players, mics, etc. Thank's David
