  1. A sales assistant at Comet told me he'd got hold of a docking cradle for his NW-HD5 from Japan. The product ID he told me was "SCS-105" but I can't find anything about it on the net. Does anyone here know about it? Tnx K
  2. I want to delete a whole album from my NW-HD5 (get one TODAY - they're fantastic!!). However, when I connect it to my PC using SonicStage 3.1, the "ATRAC Audio Device" option on the "Transfer" tab only allows me to sort by "Albums (by artist)" or "Playlists". The latter options doesn't list anything (I have no playlists) and the former splits the tracks from an album across all contributing artists. This only allows me to delete an album on an artist-by-artist basis, which is a real pain if it's a compilation album! The "Library" section of SonicStage doesn't suffer from this problem. It appears to store artist information at the album level as well, so that my "Now 1982" CD is listed against artist "now 1982" even though the individual tracks list the actual artist. Any suggestions? Thanks Kevin
  3. I've just bought my first album off the Sony Connect website. It came down as 132kbps ATRAC3, weighing in at around 45Mb. I typically rip CDs at 64kbps ATRAC3plus - it sounds fine to me and takes up a lot less room! The problem is that I can't find out how to transfer my ATRAC3 files to my Hi-MD player as 64bkps ATRAC3plus. If I set the SonicStage 2.3 transfer mode to "standard" then they go across verbatim as ATRAC3, and if I use "minimum bitrate" then I get 48kbps, which does sound bad even to me! I tried converting the tracks beforehand using the format convert tool. This gave me some stuff in the "Optimized Files" directory on my PC, but still gave me 132kpbs ATRAC3 when I transferred. (My PC - Windoze XP Pro - also froze during the batch convert, but that's a different story). I guess I could burn a standard audio CD and rip it at 64kbps AT3+, but that seems a bit excessive - and will probably reduce the sound quality. So does anyone know how I can do what I want to, properly? Many thanks Kevin
  4. Best I found in UK was £16.50 for a pack of 3. Delivery was quick, and I now have 40 CDs to listen to in my car! Big step up from the 12 I could fit on an 80min/290Mb disc (both using HiMD-LP mode). http://www.discountdiscs.co.uk/Merchant2/m...gory_Code=blank
