Just a thought: this is a 600D clone, but with native MP3 support. I don't believe they 'restructured' the original unit (except eventually for the added in/out jacks, which were supporter by the PCB anyway), so maybe the real differences are only software ones? ..........just wondering.

Oops.... you're right, I thought radio unit won't accept non-radio remotes. Just to go a little OT, has someone ever tryed to modify the radio-remotes plug? Do you know if old remotes (like RM-MZR50/55) work with new HiMD? The plug should be the same, from the pictures I've found in the net...

Well, actually (if I'm not wrong) you CAN use the radio remotes with your 600D, but the Radio functions won't be accessible (i.e. they'd be normal remotes).

Yes, it is the non-recording model. I found it on eBay, there was a "buy it now" for 75 USD, and the shipping was 22 USD.

I know, but the difference in price isn't that low.. I couldn't find a NH-700 (or a non-D 600) without paying almost twice the 600D. And I'm a poor student I don't like HDD players at all.. don't ask me why, I really don't know As if they are saying "No! Don't buy me!" to me all the time Which is exactly what I was looking for, after all. Why 'was'? Because a 600D is flying towards me, in its packet. 72 EUR W/ shipping & handling. Not so bad, if you consider that here in Italy it costs almost three times that price!!! Stay tuned: an update will follow as soon as I'll lay my hands on it.

Thanks for yor answers. Yes, it will be the primary use, let's say 95% of the time. Also the USB mass storage thing is very attractive.. I don't really know, I think it'll be from an analogue source, not a microphone. But the 600D doesn't have neither analog nor digital, anyway, so it shouldn't really matter... If the audio quality of the HiMD is far superior, I think I'll go with that...

Hello everybody! I've just discovered this great community and I've just understood that I have sooooooooo much to learn about MD! I'm going to purchase my first MD portable, and I have the chance to choose between one of these. The primary use will be listening, and some occasional recording. Radio is welcome, too.
