  1. The machine is a pentium 3 700 mhz with 512 mb pc133 sd ram. The OS is Windows 2000 Professional with service pack 4. The internals are good quality, H/D is maxtor, ram is PNY etc, biostar mobo and sony 710 cd /dvd . Overall the system is very stable, no crashes etc. I disable all virus programs and anything that is resides in the background so that simple burner has access to as much of the system resources as possible. Overall, I am able to accomplish the job, it is just a bit touchy. Put it this way, if I was an air traffic controller and simple MD was my traffic control software, I would be more inclined to take a train. I guess until I come across the steps I will have to keep experimenting. But, that still does not explain why the disc shows up as write protect. thanks again
  2. Thank you for the reply. I did download the Simple Burner 2 from the forum. However I have read on some other forums that there may be a problem with the MZ NH1 and the MZNH 900 in that they falsely report the write protect tab is open. Funny but when I put a piece of tape over the tab, the write protect indiction was gone! If this is the only problem I guess I can live with it. One thing that software is touchy. It does not play well with other software running and it seems to like my sony DVD burner as the CD drive (don't know why). I give myself plenty of time now whenever I fire up the software, no telling what will happen next.
  3. Good day to all. first off I would like to thank everyone on the forum. After much reading I finally purchased the Sony MZ NH-900 (after much prodding to purchase an IPOD or IRiver) I checked through the forum and could not find a similar thread. I am using the MD Simple Burner 2 software, downloading from my CD ti Hi MD. There are times when the software does not "see" the CD even though the cd drive shows an audio CD. Also, the problem I seem to have regularly is that the MD simple burner shows the disc as "write protect" when it is not. The other day, I set the protect tab back and forth and it worked, but not today. I have about 30 minutes left on the disc, and I would like add some more tracks. Does anyone know why the MD software would indicate the disc is protected. I tried reinserting the disc, but no good. Any help would be appreciated thanks
