Anyone heard of the upcoming (end of May) SonicStage 4.0 (SonicStage CP) (CP=Connect Player)? Let's hope they only keep the good things of both programs since they seem to be on the right way with the last versions of SS... Let's also hope I'll be finally able to convert my tracks with this version Cheers Gryzor

I wonder if anyone has been able to solve this? I've been having this problem for ages, since 3.2, and with various Sony devices- from a Hi-MD to an Aura and from an HD5 to the newest Gamma... And indeed I've found out that it cannot -will not- convert to Atrac. I haven't found a pattern, but the problem has gotten worse lately and it SUCKS! Tried downloading the AC3 Filter and setting the option as described above, no luck. But if it worked for others then maybe it means indeed that there's a problem with some codec taking over? Have not FFDShow installed now, but is there a way to see if there might be something else? Cheers Gryzor

Well, would it help if I uploaded an mp3 somewhere? I don't use low bitrates (originals are from 128kbps and bove and Atrac is set at 64kbps, although other rates fail as well)... As for rights: for *some* of the files I'm trying to transfer, it says "Unlimited". Others do not have an indication at all... Geez, I can't use my MD any more... stupd SS!

Anyone? Is it really so uncommon? Am I so unlucky? Cheers Gryzor PS Happy new year everyone

I'm sorry about the lack of details, but it doesn't happen with specific files... usually 64kbps, but not only - have tried other bitrates as well. It seems really random... Both MP3s and ATRAC ripped files, too!

Hello people! I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays! My warmest wishes to all of you There's a problem I've been experiencing for quite a while now, through various versions of SS and different installations: SS won't transfer songs to my Hi-MD, but it doesn't say much in terms of explanation; only something along the lines "SS was unable to transfer xxx". It's been driving me nuts, especially since there's really nothing to differentiate those songs it won't transfer from others that do not show this problem... any ideas on what to look for? tia Gryzor

Yes, of course I did. Options in the menu are: 256kbps 132kbps(Atrac3) 105kbps(Atrac3) 66kbps(Atrac3) 64kbps 48kbps

Ok, I'm now running SS3.0... Installed it over SS2.3, runs fine. Not much I can say at the moment, except that I can't find how to transfer in Hi-LP mode -the option is not there???

SOLVED!!! -at least for me. Uninstalled, then reinstalled SP2. Presto, it now works. By the way, since I've got a friend working for Sony, I'm in a position to know that SS3 will probably appear within two months' time... Gryzor

Unfortunately, nothing. I press next, then a dialog box flashes up. there's some text in it, or it may be the text from the main dialog behind it, but in any case it refreshes too quickly and I'm left with the image below... I also tried copying a db from another pc to my dirs, same thing continues to happen. As I said earlier: Argh! Thanks for the suggestion, though -anything else we may try?
-
Yes, that's where I thought the db was. So I'm SURE that I have deleted it, many times actually; that the same message keeps popping up suggests that it's NOT a database problem, but something else with the program. Please note that SS 2.3 (installed directly, not over a previous version) did use to work ok, and it just woke up one morning with this error message. Aaaaargh!
-
Yea, unfortunately I did. I mean, unfortunately because it still won't work... So basically, where precisely is the database file? I thought it was in the user's dir in Docs and Settings? Cheers Gryzor PS Waiting for SS3...

I have the exact same problem, out of the blue... but where exactly is the SS db file? I thought I had deleted everything yet the problem persists... Regards Gry
