This is a joke, I hope. How many Windows partitions should I have if all software was like this? I know EVERY piece of software would work almost flawlessly on a "CLEAN" install of the OS, but who's running such systems nowadays?

The database IS there, for me, and if i delete it SS DOES CREATE a new db, but it always comes up saying that it needs update, it creates a new one and then shuts down. Bad!

Well, thanks for your prompt and helpful replies... I'm impressed. I thought it depended on the fact I didn't put my pc spec in my post, but well, now they're there and I see no crowd. What about a simple, clear "Uh, I don't know, ss sucks..." If you have nothing better to say? Thank you gentlemen.

And, moreover, I have to add that Simple Burner works OK, file transfer to hi-md works OK. Only SS is causing trouble with my system. I think it's a software related problem, but I don't have codec packs installed. I'm just using the ReClock filter to play some movies, but it's not currently set as the preferred DX renderer. I use Nero (6.3) as burning software; Nod32 as anti-virus software. Well, up to you. And thanks a lot...

Hi guys I had the "updating database" problem on SS 2.3 and previous versions startup... I installed ss3 doing a complete uninstall, and following the FAQ directions. But it's still there. Am I doing something wrong or is my pc damned for eternity? Anyone solved that issue with ss3?

Hi Gryzor Database should be in "YOUR DRIVE":Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Corporation\SonicStage\Packages\ (the MtData.mdb file, I think). It's a shame, because I got Hi-MD to upload uncompressed audio recordings from efp and I can't even put some stupid music in it for listening! When will somebody come up with GNU software for these machines?
