  1. After my previous problem i cleaned most of em out so now for codecs ive got... Microsoft PCM Converter Ogg Vorbis Audio CODEC Lame ACM MP3 CODEC v3.96 AC3 ACM Decompressor I don't have FFDshow anymore, cuz i had so many problems before, but its gone now. SS= newest, soo ummm 2.3? Win Xp Home SP2 Don't know what encoder was used, but somehow like i said, i can convert/transfer 1 song just fine, but the other one says invalid format. Just in case.....i have the MZ-N420D
  2. So, this is a bit odd, and i can't seem to figure it out. I've got an album of mp3s, the new green day album, and i can transfer the song "Holiday" which is a .mp3, but i can't transfer "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" which is also a .mp3. They both have the same stats in winamp, 256 and 44, and they are the same format, but sonicstage converts and transfers holiday, and on Boulevard says "unsupported file format". Any ideas?
  3. Well i sort of fixed it, im back to a state i was at before and i geuss ill just have to live with some videos playing in WMP classic, and some playing in WMP 10. Thanks for the help PS, im posting a new thread for my next problem
  4. I know i can't transfer from the MD to the PC, i'm not trying to. It's somewhere in conversion, my geuss is with codec issues, but i don't know. Can someone that watches lots of different movies and tv eps tell me the codecs they use?
  5. I have one of the older players, the MZ-N420D. Hopefully, this clears up any confusion, i've got songs already on the disc, they are fine, but the last times i've tried to transfer these issues have come up. Alternatively i tried the Sony MP3 conversion tool, and then when playing the converted songs from "My Library" they had the distortion. So its clear to me the problem comes during conversion. As far as the songs not registering the time properly, i think that could be fixed once this is fixed.
  6. I'm using the newest Sonicstage, i thought that was the prob so i updated to 2.3, i've never even heard of this Marcnet thing.
  7. Okay, i've read through the threads and found a similar problem to mine, but the solutions didn't work, and my problem is even bigger so here goes... I downloaded the Sony MP3 conversion tool, and when i convert the songs and play them in Sonicstage, they are distorted with blips and such in the background and they speed up. Then, when i transfer the songs to the minidisc, they come up as only being 0:01 long, they play nothing for that time and then it moves on to the next song. Before i had this compound problem my problem was just the mp3s were fine in sonicstage, but once it converted them and sent them to the player, they got distorted. I have a couple things i know are causing problems, i hadn't had this problem before i installed FFdShow, but i needed to install it because i couldnt hear some of my tv episodes. I tried just uninstalling this and that didnt help, i tried disabling the mp3 decoding hoping that it was just a conflict with another codec, that didn't work. I've also got the LAME codec installed, but then also have FFdshow like i said. I'm pretty noob with the mp3 codecs because i never had a problem before. My system, Althon xp 2500, 512mb, 180Gb (120, 60), sp 1, i'd rather not install sp2 because i hate the no firewall and no antivirus alerts, but if i have to i will. Hopefully you can help, but it would also help if i knew of maybe just 1 codec pack that would do it all, i've had Nimo and a couple others, but i still had problems where i couldn't hear the mp3 soundtrack in videos. PLEASE help, thanks.
