Final word on this is that I have disabled MP3 in ffdshow and sonicstage and real player now work properly.

It sounds as though you are having the same problem as me. Does it get part way through a file and then just hang? If it is the same as my problem, it works fine with wav files but not with mp3 files. I have not yet been able to find a solution.

Has anyone else experienced a problem with sonicstage where copying mp3 files to minidisc fails part way through, and the program just hangs - the only way out is to shut down the program using windows task manager. The same problem occurs using Real Player. Copying wav files works fine. I have been using sonicstage 2.3 with the latest PA driver. My computer is running XP SP2. Any ideas?
