Hi, i bought an old Sharp IM-MT899 (880 in US i think), it's seems wonderful.. Unfortuantely, it's NetMD-compatible, and that means i have to use Sony's software which, as we all know, suck ass so bad that I don't even know what to say.. Anyways.. I can't figure out how to sort the tracks in "My Library" by filename, or artist, or artist AND song name.. First thing's first.. How do you sort the songs by filename? Suppose i have an album in Mp3-format, the album is located in a folder where each song is named with the track number in the beginning. This is great for playing the songs in order in winamp etc. Now, how do you make SonicStage sort the songs by the filenames, and thus, in the right order. When i try to transfer them to my Sharp player, they get mixed and is placed in the wrong order on the MD.. From what i can tell, sonicstage uses the ID3 info, but can Sony really be that STUPID that they don't even give you an option of using the file names? What if i don't have any ID3 info? And also, the ID3 info doesn't help, because it doesn't say the track number (at least SonicStage don't use the track number info from the ID3). So, i'm left with sorting songs using song names, but songs on an album aren't sorted by song names, at least very rarely.. Is the only option to transfer one song at a time, in the right order? SonicStage sucks.. They must have worked hard to get it to suck so much.. EDIT: I'm talking about sonicstage 3.1 :EDIT EDIT2: Ok, i noticed it could use the track number info from the ID3 tag, but that just makes all track 1's, 2's, 3's and so on from different albums come together :EDIT2

From what i could tell from the results of the Multiformats Listening Test, peoples subjective judgement was that an mp3 encoded at 128kbps (LAME) sounded better than an Atrac3 encoded at 132kbps.. Sounds pretty strange to hear you say that an atrac at 132kbps is about equal to an mp3 at 192.. But, of course, i could have gotten this multiformats test all wrong.. And also, you say that Atrac should be better since it's designed to cut out things ar inperceptible to humans. I though this was EXACTLY what mp3 did (in addition to other stuff).. how does Atrac differ from mp3 on that matter? What is it that is cut out on mp3s?

How did this go kurisu?

Wow! That's great news for a lot of people kiryen.. Good job =) Somewhere out there is my NH900 floating around just waiting to get into my hands and get an Mp3 firmware update.. He'll just have to hurry up before he has to share my love with his younger sibling, the RH910..
-
What about that datavis.com offer? It was only $239 for the RH10.. Ok, no international shipping maybe. But anyway.. why is it $379 from Audio Cubes?
-
Those prices are in pounds (£).. It's still cheap, but a lot more than 69 euros..
-
And I enjoyed reading it, so it's a good off topic subject =)

(Bold added by me..) You wouldn't believe how fun this was at 04:39AM when writing on a bachelors thesis. Thanks for cheering me up..
-
Hehehe.. I should be glad my Nh900 got lost in the shipping =) I'm writing my bachelors thesis atm. Putting more time into reading this forum so I've allready missed my first deadline

Is there anyone out there who's got the MZ-rh10 yet? Is there anyone planning to buy one? Why aren't you people discussing the new units like madmen now that they're out? (in japan at least). Have i missed something?
-
So i guess tomorrow is the big day, release of the 2nd gen units Hopefully someone will get one the first day and post their impressions on the forums.

Drag&Drop for audio which would then be able to be played back. No need for any software. Would also solve the software problem that garyc referred to.

Family, friends.. enough...

Thanks kurisu. What will the price be in USD? I know there's been some speculations, but is there an official suggested retail price in USD? With the current currency exchange rates i would look for a canadian store to order from, if the US and Canadian prices are the same. But then again, with my latest loss of a NH-900 in the shipping from the US, i think i'll look for a Swedish etailer.

Personally, I HATE autofocus, at least when your'e stuck with it, and can't switch to manual focus. This is because my Olympus digital camera only has autofocus, and the autofocus sucks. It won't focus unless I go to mercury on a sunny mercury day, or turn on 13 100-megawatt lights. Normal indoor light is not enough for the autofocus to work. What really annoys me is that the camera is fitted with a flash, witch is like a total contradiction. When the flash have to be used, it's allready way too dark for the autofocus to work. Piece of crap i tell you. I just went off topic.

My god, the RH10 is not worth an extra $150. Are those prices in USD or CAD?
-
As far as I know, insurance isn't available as an extra feature. They buy insurance for every order worth more than $300.
-
Yeah, my problems are probably because of USPS, or maybe even the Swedish postal service or customs. The package was not insured, since it's total value was under $300.

Hi, I ordered a MZ-NH900 from B&D Electronics before christmas. They said it was shipped on the 30th of Dec, and now it's the 5th of March and still no sign of the MD . I live in Sweden, so it was an international shipping from the US to here. I asked B&D to send me a copy of the USPS (united states postal service) reciept, so that I could see for sure that they had sent it. They faxed me the reciept, and it looks legite. I guess it's $267 down the drain. But hey, now I got a good reason to buy one of the new units with mp3 playback . Anyways.. I would like to hear if anyone else has had problems with B&D Electronics, anything at all. I actually only have good experiences, because they answered all my support e-mails (about 20 of them) in the same day, and they had no problem with sending me the USPS reciept. As far as I know, the problems started when it was out of their hands. //Clytn
