I've had my MZ-NH1 unit since launch {I'm in the U.K BTW}. It's been in use nearly every single day since I bought it and the unit has been flawless with not a single problem. A few days ago I put a disc in which had about 34 hours of music on it, recorded in HI-LP at 64k. I pressed play on the remote and nothing happened, looking at the unit, it said BLANK and the remote said the same thing, however the remote said there was only 36 minutes recording time left. After hooking the unit up to my computer, there were no longer any tracks or groups whatsoever on the disc but there was still some data taking up a whole load of space. I thought it was a disc problem so went and bought two brand new HI-MD discs and proceeded to record my whole collection over again {which took SOME time!} Since doing so, whenever I play these newly recorded tracks back some tracks are missing. A track will play, then the next couple of tracks will have no sound, only occasional clicks and blips of sound but then the next track will play fine and so on for the whole disc. Also, I tried recording a radio show last night using the line-in port. The whole show could be heard through the headphones whilst recording but when trying to play back the recording I got no sound, just these clicks and blips. And now when playing back discs I had recorded weeks ago, the same thing happens some tracks play back fine in their entireity but then the next tracks won't. I've been through all the settings and the manual but can't figure out the problem. I thought it was a problem with my disc but now suspect it's a problem with the unit. It was bought from Amazon, would I be able to return it if it was a problem with the unit? Thanks for reading this LONG post and for any help or advice you can give me!
