On the battery issue.. The battery used by my phone, the k750i from Sony Ericsson, is a Li-PON (I thought i read somewhere that it stands for lithium-ion polymers). I never heard of this type anywhere else, but it's great. Stand-by time: 400 hours and it's fully charged in about 1 hour or so. The phone's camera also poses no problem for the battery. I mean, it's not that after ten photo's the battery is dead. Anyway, i wonder why it's not more widely used, for example in this new unit?

I don't understand why DWDD and stamping won't work together. DVD also uses DWDD and I assume they are produced/stamped like CDs.

According to the official technical specifications available from this forum, the european version's output will be restricted to 2.8 mW + 2.8 mW instead of 5 mW. That's a bit of a problem for me, as i live in europe. But maybe that could be tuned up in service mode? see MZ-RH10's manual (page 69)

Assuming that you have a line-in and you don't need phantom power for your mic, I suggest that you buy yourself a cheap preamp like this one. I have a UB802 myself, which does have phantom power. To my opinion, these mixers (the UB series) have a very high value/money ratio.

I'm not sure if this already has been discussed but.. I'd like the 3rd gen to have blu-ray. A laser with a shorter wavelength. I think capacity would increase to 5GB (cause the dvd is 5gb and the blu-ray disc 25gb = 5 times more). But I don't know if battery power would become a problem. I do think the blue laser consumes more power..

The bottom line is that Sony would do good to add a lossless compression format. I agree with Breepee2: there's no good reason why they shouldn't.
