Currently I have: Sharp 722 MD Recorder SP-SPSM-17 Link Here besides that I just analog out to my sound card (p.o.s. mb sound). I'm going to be doing a lot of live rock recording, and am trying to figure out my next sound improvement step. I've had variable results thus far and it seems like I need some sort of bass-rolloff or preamp of some sort, but am weary towards a $70+ purchase for such a device unless I'm confident it's exactly what I need and will work. I have seen the information about the radioshack attenuator, so I'm going to pick one up, and hope it's a cheap alternative. Any other recommendations are welcome. I'd much rather transfer the recorded material digitally... I want to get into HiMD, however... I REALLY don't like that Sony doesn't allow you to adjust recording volume on the fly. Is there any headups to when Sharp will release a HiMD recorder? I'd guess that it'd have similar or better features as my own 722, which I absolutely love. Also... if anybody has an otter box solution (I'd probably get a 3000 or something with plick and pluck) tell me how you like it etc.
