Great design, makes my player look like something worth 2 bucks, which it probably is by now. I have to say the price seems pretty reasonable, but as always once it gets here (Estonia) it will most likely be double that. Which is also why I paid a rediculous amount for my current MD unit. I wouldn't mind owning this, although lately 1GB has started limiting my listening. I am a quality freak tho and always try to go for the best possible.
-
I guess Sony just beats them in the MD market, by making better players. I'm also just speculating, since I haven't tried any out. But even if they made equally good players, given the choise, I'd still go for Sony. Through personal expirience, I think they are the most reliable out there.
-
WOW. I haven't really recorded much with my MD player, so not much use for me now (maybe in the future tho), but got to hand it to you - great job!
-
This is gonna sound stupid, but what does the renderer do exactly?
-
I've found that the 132kbps convertion is enough for music downloaded off the internet (reffering to legal downloads, such as demo releases and other music featured on sites like download.com). But when copying an orignal CD to MD I can clearly hear the difference from the CD. This is why the feature sounds like good news to me. It would be great if anyone can confirm the compatibility to the NH600 player.
-
That could be quite true, especially since people seem to prefer portal units, that don't use any sort of disks or cards at all. An IPod Mini or Nano will offer as much quality, style and space as a MD player. The number of space is actually even higher then on a Hi-MD. I guess that's why Sony might start focusing more on other portable MP3 players.

Odd indeed. As an awnser to your question - I can see the icons themselves just fine, just the Autorun isn't working. And yes, I am running XP.
-
Still nothing sadly. Thanks anyway. I'm guessing it is reading that Autorun file, because it changes from the default "Removable Disk" Icon to the kind when there is none.
-
The CD Rom Value was correct (1). The two other ones... HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer NoDriveTypeAutoRun = 0x00000095 -and- HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer NoDriveTypeAutoRun = 0x00000095 had 91, instead of 95, which was supposed to be correct value. So I changed both, closed regedit and connected my player again. Sadly nothing had changed, still no icon or text...
-
I have an MZ-NH600 and what can I say, the icon is not showing up. I copied the icon and the autorun.inf file on the minidisk and renamed the the text and everything, but it's just not showing up. The name is still also "Removable Disk" at Windows. Any suggestions?

I'd really like it not to be over. I've had my MD playerfor about a year or so and once it really gets out dated, I'd love to look into buying another MD player. I've found all Sony devices to be very reliable and up to my needs.
-
This is quite interesting. I personally don't have anything against Atrac, but what bothers me is the extra time it takes to convert all my media files.
-
First of all, thanks for the replies. Id you don't mind there's a few more questions I forgot to ask yesterday. I read in another thread that SonicStage is the only program that can transfer to a Hi-MD. But if I record the disc in Net-MD mode, then can that be done by Windows Media Player? The reason is, that I would like to use IPodder (http://www.ipodder.org/) whihc downloads shows straight to WMP to be transfered on a portable media device. The second thing would be - is there any way around the limitation in SonicStage which restricts you from downloading songs to a PC, if it's not the same one you originally uploaded the song. Thanks again.

Hey. I'm new to the forum. I own a MZ-NH600 (European ver.) which I bhought in September. I just found this forum and I have a few questions. I also apologize if this is under the wrong category. Anyway, about my player. First, is it possible to attach a remote (with LCD) to it. It does have the remote opening next to the earphones hole, but it didn't come with one and the dealer said I cant buy one extra. Second. Is there any way to trnsfer MP3, WMA and other such formats to a MD without having to convert into Atrac. And finally. What's the difference between my model and the NH600D one? Anyway, thanks.
