i think i disagree with you. Instead of adding new features I would like to see SS running in your computer without so much memory requeriments. It would be nice to play a memory eater game with SS playing your minidisc in the background in a "lite" way, i mean no needing so much resources. Of course I'm speaking from my point of view, since i have a normal computer (Athlon 2000, 256ram). I know sometimes it's very time consuming to edit some tracks in other programs like Goldwave, but i prefer using a very complete program for editing than use some crappy edit add-on from our friends Sony.

i'm planning to build my own minidisc storage box made in wood, but first I need to ask you guys something.... What is going to happen to the old HIMD purple discs? Still selling them or now it's just possible to find the new blue discs?

There was a post about the same issue in this same section, can't remember where i saw it. I think maybe it's a thing with the G-protection going crazy, because as you may know it "stores" music in minidisc's internal memory. So it's a malfunction. You should try playing different discs many times. If the problem persist, maybe the best thing to do is to send your player to a repair store (hope it stills under warranty period). i've found it! take a look : http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=13630

can anyone explain me PLEASE how to read these frequency analysis. I've see a lot of them but cannot understand the significance of the levels on them. Please guys, just a brief explanation Thanks in advance

Please tell the error message you're getting, or explain the problem step by step.

you can create playlist in SS but if you have the same song in 2 playlist and transfer both to the minidisc, the song will be transfered twice.

sorry to say but those are not good. i had the mdrex71 and what can i say: good bass, exagerated highs and soso mids. The mdrex71 and 51s are extremely fragile. The cord is too thin and it's made with some kind of rubber instead of plastic. In my case, the cable that goes around your neck got some kind of "melted" and I only used them for walking .

can you post some pictures of it? thanks

do a clean install of SS. Also, install the last version. One more thing, try another usb device in your usb ports. (instruction for how to do a clean install can be found in the forums)

interesting. thank you guys.

hello guys. i'm wondering if the lithium battery of the mz-nh1 has that memory effect thing. I mean: What happens if i charge the battery when there's still some charge on it (let's say half charge). I'm asking this because i'm probably going to buy a mznh1, but i don't think i could buy a spare battery for it. So there are gonna be days that I'll have to charge it when it stills have charge on it. Does this kind of charge ends with a battery with the problem of memory effect , like a NMH battery? or is it true that you can charge lithium batteries while they still have charge? . Thanks everybody

1) you have to transfer mp3s through SonicStage. There are a couple of post discussing the quality of mp3s played in 2nd generation Himds. My recommendation: go with ATRAC. 2) you can upload the file all the times you want with the last SS version 3.3. The file will stay ion the recorder too. 6) umm.... i had a mzr900 and i think it's very similar in size and weight with the mzn1. So, the 2nd generation recorders are bigger and heavier. Try to look for reviews in the pictorial section of the forum. I think there you'll find some pictures comparing mzrh10 with other smaller models (maybe the mzn1 or a similar model in size). 8) incomprehensible. lol, just kidding. you can hear songs through computer speakers only when the disc is recorded in himd mode. If it's recorded in standard format you can only hear the songs through your headphones connected to the recorder. 10) it's up to you.

i didn't know that. thanks for the info.

Maybe some "system" files in the hi-md discs are corrupted. You should try to format the disc using windows (explorer). Then, format it with SS. (maybe it will show an error message before it formats the disc). Other thing, if you're still under warranty, send it to a repair store. You won't lose anything,.

I would like to add something to this instructions. After editing the track in the computer, make sure to save it as a WAV file. If you save it as MP3 you will have gaps in your recording if you plan to combine the tracks later. That's all.
-
do the same but transer to hisp. WOW the difference is amazing!
-
You'll always feel that way (underusing the md) until you have to record some speech or maybe your music library gets bigger and you can't transfer any more songs to your HDD because you're out of memory.

Why do you think that SS sucks? I use to think that way when i had SS 2.x but new versions has been a big improvement. It's not the best software you could have for something like this, but it's pretty acceptable. About your problem... maybe you're not doing a clean install (search the forums on how to..) and if you have to reinstall winxp after 2 moths of SS being installed, i believe that your problem has nothing to do with SS.

How can I use HI-MD as extenal drive with w98?
sebastianbf replied to lecram1971's topic in Minidisc
go to the download section of the forums and download the personal audio driver. I think that will be helpful
