  1. Cannot use this disc because it was initialized by a program other than Sonic Stage. Click properties on the Device/Media panel and initialize the disc to use it as an audio disc. I get this message, when using a perfectly fine HiMD, which plays back, both a Neil Young CD and the home recording I'm trying to use. But SS 3.4 will not recognize. I have seen this problem before in MD forum, but never seen a solution. Now both computers have the same problem (something similar also happens with a Palm Pilot occasionally; the computer doesn't want to recognize a USB device, which the software ought to recognize). Any ideas?
  2. Wandered about in the virtual desert for a long time, and then wandered for months in this forum. This forum seems comprehensive, compared to all the other referrals and things. I'm just a-hoping that I can solve my glitch, and get the Hi MD recognized again by my laptop. "Desperately searching" certainly characterizes me. Mr. mrwarg in Toronto
  3. So ... I'm having the same kindsa trouble as this user had. I have just updated to SS 3.2 (reinstalling Simple Burner), and the problem persists. Root of the problem is definitely with this DELL laptop, and not with the NH900, nor with the disc itself (I tried using brand new discs, and erasing them and everything). The software and the discs and the MD all work fine downstairs on the other computer (which is home-networked). DELL laptop Inspiron 5100, running XP Home; Service Pack 2; Intel Pentium 4 cpu 2.4 GHz, 2.39GHz, 512 MB of RAM Something about the software installation on this computer is making it recognize the MD as an extra memory storage removable drive. Message in SS 3.2 (same as in 3.1) is a classic: "Cannot use this disc as an audio disc because it was intitialized by a program other than Sonic Stage. Click Properties on the Device/Media panel and initialize the disc to use it as an audio disc." This is a false solution, as the same disc, when I remove the Ultra Slow Bus, still has an irreplaceable recording of a concert I recorded on Monday, as well as a commercial CD. Anybody have a real solution? The one I use now is to abandon all Sonic Stage functions on this computer.
