A friend of mine has this nasty problem with SonicStage/DRM: he recorded hours of interviews for his PHD on a HiMD, uploaded to his labtop and backed it up as ATTRAC CDs (ouch) After listening the to those on his computer & finding them alright, he re-used the disks (HiMDs were in short supply back then), i.e. deleted the old interviews, trusting that he had them on CDs AND on his computer. Now, the computer crashed (guess what make it was...?) and he had 2 get a new one. So when he imported the Interviews into SonicStage on his NEW machine, they would show up... but not play, and he would get an error message saying "wrong permissions". Apparently, these cds can only be played on the machine that made them, not any other... tralala... and this machine does not exist any more ... hooray ... and there goes this poor devil's PHD. Anybody any suggestion so that he doesn't throw himself from a tall building? Is this really unsolveable? wonders hwbeirut
