  1. Hi Kurisu, I have not been in touch much with anyone using the NEW Sony MZ-RH1, and uploading old MD live recordings onto a Mac. I have some questions in that regards, perhaps you might be able to answer. I want to know if there is an English Software for uploading to a Mac, available now on the internet, and where? (Although I live in Japan, I do not read Japanese Kanji) If I buy my unit from here, can I still download the software in English and use it with the unit I buy from here? How has the users' response been to this unit? Is it really doing what it is meant to do, and that is to allow musicians to transfer their live recordings onto a PC/Mac, for archiving, or editing purposes? What has been the overall response to this unit? Thanks. Shakuhachi.
  2. The software they have included with the unit in Japan works with both Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher and Windows. But the only thing is that it is not multi lingual. It is only in Japanese! Or so I was told.
  3. Hi Chris, I just went to a Bic Camera in Ikebukuro and checked out the unit. My main purpose for getting this unit would be to transfer more than 300 hours of Shakuhachi lessons I had taken here in Japan while studying for my Masters license. I would like to first archive them, and then convert them into MP3 and upload them onto my portable MP3 player which could easily fit all of them in one shot! and this way I will have access to all of them at any time and anywhere I go, for reference purposes. The only thing that kept me from buying the unit was a) the price, which hopefully should come down (40,000Yen), and the fact that Sonic Stage is in Japanese. I speak the language but I am not confident about my reading skills. So I was wondering what you would advise me to do. How can I get an english version of this software, and will it work on my Mac OS X 10.3.9, and allow me to upload these old MDLP recordings and convert them to MP3? I hope I am not sounding redundant, and any advise is highly appreciated. Thanks.
  4. Hi Chris, I have up until now been using a Sharp NetMD IM-MT880-S, and have been doing live recordings for the past four years now here in Japan. Since the Sharp is unable to upload anything recorded live into my Mac, and it looks like the new Sony will be able to do so, I have some questions before buying it. Here they are: I want to know how compatible it is with a Mac... Is the Mac software in English or Japanese or can it do both? What format is the music uploaded in? Can it be opened in iTunes? and can these files be converted to MP3? How long does it take to upload a Minidisc? Can the uploading still be done for Live Minidisc recordings done with a non-Sony unit, i.e a Sharp unit in MDLP? Are the minidiscs uploaded with their disc names and song names? Does the unit allow for on-the-fly recording level adjustment...(While the unit is recording, changing the input level?) I know it may still be a little early to have all these answers, but if you have some answers, I would be very appreciative. Thanks.
  5. Hi, Thanks for your reply. I was not able to find in that discussion any drivers or software for my needs. If you can help further in locating drivers for a Mac for my imt880, and software that will allow me to transfer songs from my itunes to my Imt-880, I would be greatly thankfull. thanks again.
  6. Hi, Thanks for your reply. The downloads page contains only information about the imt-880. It has no drivers, no english software for transferring songs and there are no links to any drivers or software anywhere else on that page. So, I am still looking for the drivers and a software that will allow me to transfer songs from my itunes to my imt 880. if you can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again.
  7. Hi, I am living here in Tokyo, Japan, and bought a Sharp IMT 880 a couple of years ago, but never used it to its full potential with a PC because I never owned a PC. Now, I have a powerbook g4 running OS 10.3.9, and was wondering if anyone could direct me to English software and English drivers that will allow me to connect my MD to my Mac and transfer files from my iTunes to my MD. The included software is in Japanese and I can't understand anything it says! Please help! I would also appreciate any advise on how to make transitions of songs from iTunes onto my MD. Thanks.
