Hi all, I am selling my Sony Minidisc Recorder on the bay - here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=260450244638 I'm adding 4 x 1GB HiMD discs too, and I have various normal MDs I could add too. It comes with the original box and all the bits and pieces. I'm UK based, but if you are based outside the UK I can look into P&P costs. Thanks for your interest! Best wishes.

Oops, forgot to mention that the MZ-R900 comes with a really nice LCD remote, which plays nicely with the Sony RH10 and probably other current Sony models. (See auction for details.) At the moment, my MZ-R900 WITH remote is going for a cheaper price than a new remote unit...

Hi all, I have an MZ-R900 recorder + a couple of minidiscs for sale on ebay, here. Thanks for looking!

Hi, I hadn't tried converting in SS before transferring - that might make life easier. Thanks! P.S. that's really confusing that the converted files are moved off to an "optimized files" folder, and only the original is still visible in the library. That's where i was going wrong before.

Hi, When I try to convert my mp3 file to ATRAC (mmm, nice'n'lossy) the file is still unplayable. I presume because the original is 24KBit. Mp3 details: MPEG 2.0 layer 3 24kbit, 154436 frames 22050Hz Mono I'm using SonicStage for the conversion, and trying various ATRAC formats - e.g. 132, 64. So I have to convert the bitrate using audio editing software, then the compression format using SS? Thanks.

I am disappointed by the limited mp3 support in the MZ-RH10. It seems that anything not encoded at 44100KHZ can't be played. I haven't tested this properly, but so far, every spoken word podcast I've downloaded can't be played on the MZ-RH10. Of course most of them are mono 22050 or 11025. Very short-sighted of Sony. If you're going to support a format, do it properly....! Have i missed an easy way to transfer to a usable format using SonicStage?

Hi, I'm don't see why mono is so bad - it really depends on what you're using it for. However I would prefer a stereo mic and didn't notice that it was mono, so I'll pass up.

Hi, Has anyone had experience of one of these? EBay link Cheers.

You're quite right. I don't think there is a way to do what you want. L
-
Actually, you can hear the MD player searching for the next track during the gaps between tracks. Seems to me Sony should be able to fix this. L
-
Hi, Yes, try this: Options / My Library / Play Uncheck "playback setting" box. HTH L

Is it technically possible for SonicStage to preserve the gapless playback I have in albums on my RH10, when playing them back via SonicStage when the MD player is connected via USB? Unfortunately, the only way to play MDs when connected via USB is with SonicStage. But there is always that awful 2 or 3 second gap between tracks. I like to use the USB cable for power at home and work, and use the good monitors hooked up to my PC when at home. This way I hardly ever need to recharge my RH10. I'm putting this in as a request if it's technically feasible! L

Hi, I got an RH10, pretty pleased with it so far... Apart from the ridiculous DRM issues. I was wondering about getting a spare USB cable for plugging in to my PC at work. Is it a standard USB -> mini USB connection? Would this product fit on the RH10 side? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...6784415394&rd=1 Cheers, Lemmy

I'll add my voice, in case Sony are watching this thread. I won't be buying an RH10 unless this issue is resolved somehow... L

Hi, Just wondered if it is possible that Sony could issue firmware upgrades for the RH10 to correct the track labeling problem, or even introduce native compatibility with other audio formats, such as WMA, OGG etc. Next question - if it is possible, how likely is it? Do Sony offer long term support for products, or will they just move straight onto the 3rd generation of Hi-MD machines and expect users to upgrade their hardware? Still debating whether to get an RH10... L
